Does this 04 have black valve covers? - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

it looks like black covers but the rest is stock. I thought all 04 were unpainted covers. Am I wrong?

To my knowledge no 04 Machs left Dearborn with painted cam covers. That was 2003 thing only. My guess would be someone painted/powdercoated them.

Again for 2004, the Mach 1 was powered by the 4.6L DOHC "mod" V-8 cranking out 305 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. An appearance upgrade gave the engine bare aluminum valve covers to replace the black-painted valve covers that were on the 2003 versions.

These are stock 04 M1 Valve Covers, I have custom coil covers (and a hell of a lot more HP than 305, LOL....)

I was happy to find out that the mark viii valve covers are the same one on my cobra, which the mark viii come in black from the factory. soon will be making my order for a brand new set and new gasket for $95 shipped.
Will be easier than pulling mine off, spraying them and then putting back on, once mine are off, I will for sure sale them, but may spray them mystic color and sell them that way. I've done the mystic color before to make it look more like the 96 mystic cobra, so might see how it turns out, be fun to play around with.

I see the skinny outlined part of the hood stripe is missing too. Unless the hood stripe has been replaced or painted on.
