New brakes and clean-up.. HUGE PICTURES! sorry!
Almost done doing my brake upgrade/clean-up. Figured I'd put up my progress.. I've only got the PS front done as of now, I'm taking it slow and putting along...
Here's what I started with.. Old to New comparison. Rotors are from Rotorpros with their painted hat. Took the Caliper mount off, over to Jenna's grandfathers and glass beaded it.. Bracket in the "Spray booth" using "New" Ford Blue engine paint. Wire brush and caliper cleaner so it's nice and ready...

Here's the Caliper "Spray Booth"
First few coats using "Red as ****" as I like to call it. It is specifically for Calipers so hopefully it lasts Painted and drying Rotor & Caliper Mount installed Hawk HPS pads & Caliper installed After the final install, some touch up and it has dried completely I've noticed it's not as shiny as I would like. I'll be getting Engine Paint Clear tomorrow to throw some clear over the Caliper only. I've already masked off the caliper itself and can paint it while on the car with no issues

I had thought about that before I noticed it needed some "touch up" I had the rim ready to go on, then took it off and masked off the caliper again sprayed it again. Ya can't tell in that final pic, but there are some finger prints and dirt I got rid of.. I need something to plug those ugly holes where you see the pad springs.

The blue and red combo look a lot better than I thought :ORANGE: Now you just need some ultra shine for those tires

Re: New brakes and clean-up.. HUGE PICTURES! sorry!
Noooooooo tire shine.. Those tires are meant to work, not look good! I like the look of a clean, non shiny tire better then one that has all the fancy **** applied..

There is only one man on this site that's proven he's quicker then me, and that's Steve (nekasrof) by a few seconds haha
Maybe next year I'll be able to race a full schedule again and have the seat time to catch me up to him, if he stays in our current class.

Re: New brakes and clean-up.. HUGE PICTURES! sorry!
Yea, they are cleaned up now. That was the first time they've been on the car in a long, long time. Cleaned all the webs out of them and scrubbed them pretty good. Then a few quick blasts up into the middle triple digits (on a private track of course) cleaned off what is there of the tread area

That rotor should be on the driver side, not the passenger side. And, are you really using a Mach 1 for club racing?

Re: New brakes and clean-up.. HUGE PICTURES! sorry!
The simple answer is: yes. Hillclimbing is part of time trials which is part of Club Racing so in essence, yes. Maybe not the fastest car on the hill in stock form, but the potential is there for several classes. The limiting factor is the check book.
