2016 TEXAS SHOOTOUT

Are you ready to your car and hit the track?

The Texas Shootout will be in Lufkin, Texas April 22-24, 2016.

This event is open to all Ford and Mercury vehicles. Whether you drive a Mustang, Cougar, Marauder, Taurus, Focus or Fiesta it doesn’t matter. Just bring your ride for a weekend of fun.

Event Registration is $30.00 per car and includes one goody bag and raffle ticket

Saturday April 23, 2016

Leave for Ray’s Drive-in

8:30 am – 11:30 am
Car Show prep and judging (categories to be determined)

12:00 noon
Drag racing at Pine Valley Raceway

Entry fee to Pine Valley is $10.00 per person for spectators

Entry Fee for Racers is $25 ($10.00 entry plus $15 tech fee)

Time trials and racing starts at 12:00 noon (brackets racing)

Awards ceremony, raffle giveaways, and parking lot party

Rates: $95.00 per night plus taxes (those arriving Thursday are eligible for the group rate)

Reserve early to guarantee your choice of room type.

You will be required to provide a credit card number to reserve your room. Your credit card will not be charged until your stay.

Cancellation Deadline: If you need to change or cancel this reservation, you may do so up until Friday, April 22, 2016, before 4pm local hotel time. The reservation cannot be cancelled through email. Cancellation fees may apply. Contact the hotel for details.

Rooms must be reserved by March 22, 2016. Non-booked rooms will be returned to the hotel for their use.

Also on Friday we are suppose to be picking up a 2010 F150, might see if the wife wants to bring her truck and then she can get involved.
She has a hard time riding in the Cobra because of medical reasons, so would be nice if I could get her involved and she bring her truck.

Just to let everyone know, LM coogs father past, please keep him in prayer, I'm hoping to make it down to the funeral this Sat. I'm sorry Chris for your loss and know that I am here if you need to talk

Looks to be that I will be coming to the shootout, but just be there on Sat, the wifie is staying home and so it will be my two son's and myself there.
I believe also the Cobra will be making the trip, please don't laught at the ugly paint on the car, its in bad shape, but will be fun to just be around everyone.

Wish I could make it. I have a 5K Run the morning of the 23rd and then plans with the wife the rest of the weekend. It just happens to be the same weekend as the "Off the Rails Country Music Festival". She is not going to let me out of that one.

also enjoy the time with the family
maybe next year, I was almost not going to go, because the wife and I was going to make plans for dirt work around the house, which i'm looking forward to do. got to rent a tractor that has a backhoe, we are taking out all the dirt in the flower beds and replacing it all with pavers. then the on the back of the house we are needing to clear out some of the area, because we are extending the porch slab. I wont be laying the concert, but it will be fun to play with the dirt, but we talked it over and going to push it back the next week and weekend. Will be renting the tractor for a week, I also got other things for dirt moving that I need to do around here, so will be doing that. I guess has a grown man I really have to pay to play in the dirt

That's terrible news. We lost another friend of the group at this time last year to cancer. Such a terrible disease.

was perusing the Pine Valley Raceway schedule on their sight and included it below.

last year they let us in before 2pm but time trials started later in the afternoon. thinking if y'all plan on heading out there at noon, you'll be waiting for a while at the track again.

It is truly sad disease,
I ended up not making it to the funeral (sorry Chris) we had a emergy come up with two horses, which we were planning on taking over. Got one on Friday and then had to get the other one next. Long story with the family that had them, but they could not take care of them any more and they were used as therapy horses for Veterans and children with disabilities, which we were so happy we have the space to provide for those horses out here. Also with the horses got two saddles and some other equipment.

Also with everything else, was planning on a cruise Sunday and had to back out of that one with all this stuff from the horses. Just a very busy tired weekend.

It was a insane weekend for sure and just really ran me down.
They both are probably happy you be together and not split up, the older one that is 14 has probably a couple more years on him for riding, but the 10 year old should be good amount of time left. we are happy to have them here, they are very gentle and soon will get on the one to ride and see how they do.
