Re: New Project "R" thread
Not sure really, I may or may not.
With the IRS, and 3.55's, I am shooting for an all around package, handling, braking, comfort, reliability, ride quality, etc. That plus using nearly 100% Genuine Ford OE parts.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Today I installed a Steeda bumpsteer kit, and a set of X2 ball joints.
Overall, it took about 2 hours, by hand in the garage, no power tools. The angles of the control arms and tie rods are vastly improved. Also did a "tape measure" toe alignment. The steering of the car is vastly better overall. I highly recommend these 2 mods to anyone with a lowered Mach 1. Project "R" keeps getting better and better. I might do a rear "roll steer" kit.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Last weekend and this weekend is time for me to try and design,
build and fit a set of LT's on the car. It's quite a challenge! Hopefully this weekend will be more fruitful than last weekend. Trying to make this all fit with the stock crossmember. Fingers crossed...........................

Re: New Project "R" thread
Good lord this is the longest thread ever! I just read through the entire thread and all I have to say is this car is AMAZING! What kind of time frame are you looking at to have a complete kit for sale? Also do you have a better estimate on price for the kit yet? Not looking for an exact, just curious.

but with the exchange rate (US to Au.) it's pushing toward 4k. I do have an interested party for distribution of the kit. I know who I want to manufacture some of the parts, but as of yet, they have expressed no keen interest. Their quality is unsurpassed, so if I get an OK from the owner, GAME ON! Also, the local Midas shop is assisting with tube bending and some welding on the headers. So far, 2 rear tubes on driver side perfect fit. 6 tubes to go. Headers will not be part of the kit.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Driver side LT header is installed.
No touching anywhere, and they do not hang low at all. I will have to get an aftermarket steering coupler shaft, as the space down there is pretty scarce. Also installed a set of brand new (rare) 2000 Cobra "R" engine mounts. Next weekend (at least), passenger side header.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Both LT's are bolted up.
This is not a job for the faint of heart. Started it up with open headers this afternoon. Also, trying to get a local firm involved with the kit. Stay tuned.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Latest progress:
Al Papitto is currently assembling the engine or will as soon as the pistons arrive. Heads are done. Once the pistons arrive the block can be prepped and honed. New FRPP forged 5.4 crank was sent there last week. Windshield and rear glass should be in within a couple of weeks. Wanted to do it this coming weekend, but going racing at Moroso. Last weekend, dropped the fuel tank and installed new sending unit. Poured in 10 fresh gallons of Shell Premium. H pipe, new front O2's and O2 extenders installed. Throttle response is amazing, even with a stock Navi long block. Can't wait for the Boss330 motor to get in there and get it to a dyno. Kits will be coming online soon. I am lining up a manufacturer for some small parts.

Re: New Project "R" thread
Windshield and rear glass being installed next weekend.
Then all the glass is complete. Then I can drive it over 30 mph without the "wind tunnel"effect. Also, passenger side outer door handle (torch red) installed. Waiting for Al Papitto to finish my motor.................. (Insert Best Tim Allen grunt here : )

Re: New Project "R" thread
I might snap some later today and post them.
After the glass is installed next week, The guy at Midas is going to make a catted "H" pipe for me. That is, if the glassis installed early enough.
