Re: New Project "R" thread

The way I want to do it will either re-use stock Mach or FR500 heads,
and re-use your stock upper intake, front accessories, motor mounts, etc.
Basically, if you have a Mach, get a 5.4 short block, the kit, and that's it.
Part may also work on a Marauder.
Literally bolt on, I hope.
It will use Mach 1 electronics and harnesses.
I just have to do a bit of custom stuff.

I think if that would be one nice alternative to supercharging. I'd love to have a 5.4 32V with heads/cams/exhaust in my Mach.

I hope you are right.
I have seen quite a few people struggle with this swap.
I have the wiring harnesses laid out in the garage now.
Also got the new (OEM Ford) tank to engine bay fuel and brake lines today.
Once the motor gets here I can get familiar with it as an entire package.
After all is said and done, I want it to go bolt, bolt, plug plug.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Check UPS in about two days... You have a "FRPP Care Package" coming your way. Dont get to excited, its only one pound but includes every FRPP part.

WOW!
I hope it's that alloy Ford GT block!!
Cool.
Thanks Joe.

On another note,
I went through all the brand new wiring harnesses I have,
the main (dash) harness is wrong.
The PCM to engine harness is wrong.
No, I did not get them from Joe.
Got them locally.
Dang it!!

I will have to go over all the wiring with the local parts dept. in the morning.
The fuel charge harness seems correct!
With all the nuts, bolts and fasteners, brackets they have gotten me,
I really can't complain.

If you could get a 5.4l 32v swap kit for the Mach for relatively cheap and easy installation, I'd be all over it! :HOPPY:

That's the plan.
I have a ways to go though.
I have to see if I can keep the shaker functional.
Progress is being made.

Any idea (just a general one) how much it would cost for everything involved? I'm not looking for specifics, but like around $2K 3K 4K?

I am not even close to figuring that.
The cheapest "kit" will be if you have a Mach or 32V Mustang already.
Poss Marauder also.
It depends on the foundry (intake), and how the exhaust works out.

Re: New Project "R" thread

It's getting closer.
The Crate Motor should be here Tuesday, and the T56 about the same time.
I took the GT motor out so it's looking lonely under the hood.
Soon!!!!
A bunch more stuff coming.
I can't wait.

BTW: I did get the package from Joe.
Neat stuff coming from FRPP!

Re: New Project "R" thread

Got off the Navi stuff and installed the Mustang and Boss 290 stuff.
Mach 1 harness (brand new from Ford) test fitted to the motor.
Mach 1 P/S pump on.
MIGHT test fit the motor into the car tomorrow.
The T56 is here (2000 R spec), still in the crate.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Slow (methodical) progress being made.
Accessories, Mach 1 fuel/charge harness, Mach alternator etc.
Harness fits pretty well, but a couple alterations required.
Taking notes.
So far, pretty interesting.
Test fit #1 in car soon.
Waiting for funky exhaust headers. :ORANGE:
Edit: THIS ENGINE IS HUGE!

This is an NVH Navi block.
In the pic, it's actually upside down.
It looks better now that I have some more time on it.
Post pics later.
Also, I measured 32 inches side to side from the cam covers.
Strut towers are 34" apart.
