Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
I need to replace mine as well. Ford sells them, but Autozone and so on does as well.

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
I bought both the Hood Insulatt and Blanket from Ford. But I reused my clips because I was careful taking them out. The ones Ford gave me were not the correct size. The circle on the top was too small

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
Keeps the heat away from the composite hood,
saves the paint, and keeps the "tick" noise down as stated earlier.

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
I was careful with the clip removal, bought spray dye and shot it black. Good as new.

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
I threw mine in the garbage... Clips available in the Help section at most auto part stores.

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
Yeah I got the clips from my local ACE hardware store. I tried painting mine with plastic spray paint. Still looks like crap though.

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
I spent like 85 bucks on it. I then coated it with 3M fabric scotchguard. Never looked back. IT WAS worth it.

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
those hood insulators are only good for making your motor dirty the first time you close the hood after detailing the engine

Re: Hood Insulator Blanket
I found the clips at my local Lowe's, almost a perfect match, I painted the blanket with Krylon BBQ and Stove Spray Paint, it worked great, looks brand new. All the stains are gone.
