I'm not familiar with all the different cage setups and structural workings etc. that is done when you build a setup like this. The frame tie ins you added are pretty **** cool. Is that something you need when you tube out the rear, or more of a typical strengthening for the type of power you'll be putting down?

Re: New build

your main loop is fitting in very nicely! Love how tight it is.

Once it is tacked in, how do you weld the top of the bars?

Thru the floor FULL length are the ones I am using. Essentially others fit and form to the stock rail outside and bottom of vehicle. Full length slide into the existing rail making it 25.5 reg. I did the old under the frame ties (hpm's) and changing to these is a situation where I will not have to change ever again. Yes... it is more work but doing it this way I know the vehicle will be solid. As for power levels u could do this at high and low power levels. It is just my preference to do it now vs later.

. Great question. My side outriggers are not full welded BUT tacked. Once everything is tacked in top I will cut the outrigger tacks and basically drop the cage down so we can tig the top of the bars. A quick lift and jack under the outriggers they will be back in place. At that point make sure everything is level again and final weld outriggers in place. I will post pics this weekend

Re: New build

couple update pics...i welded my Merillat upper control arm mount in place solid. Leveled and came out good for a rookie welder.
Rear is Team z outlaw rear end shortened to 46". Once i add axles and brakes I will be a little over 51"...This (from my calculations) put me with a 15x12 rim with 4-4.5" backspacing. The rims should fit under the vehicle nicely. I will use a more concise measurement once I get to that point BUT for now...fitting everything up so see where I am at. Will need to powdercoat rear end after I tack in upper shock mount bar for the coilovers.

If everything goes well I will mount upper mount and then rip that rear out and install Merillat lower control mounts shortly.

Re: New build

shocks fitted...everything fits great...will pull down rear end and send to powder coat. replacing BOTH lower torque boxes...

ok...this isnt a hard thing to do BUT it is messy and time consuming...this will take care of the drivers side lower torque box that was starting to pull away from stock location.

drivers side wheel tub fit into location as well...
Roy cole has been helping with the cage so once we are done with that I will start tacking the tubs and seam sealing everything before paint...
