Rear Emblem
My car was restored and I ordered a new rear emblem. My question is how do I line it up on the trunk lid the way it was originally placed on there from the factory. I only have one shot and don't want to mess up the placement of it. Thanks

Re: Rear Emblem
Yeah ASH I know if I tried to guess I would definitely screw it up!
I was able to get these measurements today, I figure a picture is worth 1000 words, hope this helps. Maybe the easiest way to get it straight would be to put a line of masking tape at the bottom under where the emblem goes. And you could do a line of tape to the right side as well to get it all lined up in place. I also see that I have some wax to clean out of my emblem now, too funny Happy New Year! image.jpeg |

Re: Rear Emblem
yes the best way would be to put tape going all the way across and use that as a line.

Oxford Mach is the man on this post, I did nothing to help you out. That is what I love about this forum, is the help that comes from here.

You did not realize how important that picture was going to be.

Re: Rear Emblem
I helped someone out on this same thing back in 2012. Post #5. My measurements on my car are SLIGHTLY different than the ones on this thread though. Mine sits a tiny bit higher and I measured mine from the bottom of "M" to the edge of the trunk lid.

Re: Rear Emblem
I guess it's like the old saying, "sometimes close enough is close enough" haha
Makes you wonder, you could probably measure 10 cars & get 10 different answers. I guess what's 1/16" between friends |

Re: Rear Emblem
Nobody would probably even notice 1/16" difference even if the cars were side by side.
