Video of 4V exhaust seat moving in the head

Common problem with the 03 and newer 4V heads that are under a lot of boost. The seats get overheated and will loosen from the heads. You can click on the first link to see the gap between the seat and the head, and the second link shows a video of the seat spinning in the bore when the valve job tooling hits it. 6 seats in this pair of heads were like this, all are being replaced.

I have never seen one completely fall out and grenade the motor, rather they seem to move around and make the famous tick sound.

Re: Video of 4V exhaust seat moving in the head

My buddies 3.4 Whipple Cobra had an exhaust seat drop on the dyno. Didn't fall all the way out and grenade the motor, but the tuner said another pull and it probably would have. He ended up just replacing the heads with stage 2 livernois.
