You don't see too many 9 second cars down here in Cali. Probably because of all the emissions & ****. A lot of 10 second animals though. A lot of Nos too...

A relief to some extent.
Gathering info, making educated guesses, pricing stuff, etc.
Did that for 2 years.
Not as good as the real thing.
Definitely better now.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Spent the day at Vero Beach, Florida and got to meet Al Papitto. (Boss330)
He showed me some of his projects (Including his 9 sec. 5.4 powered Mustang),
and helped me make final engine configuration decisons.
The man is a wealth of info and experience with mod motors.
To say I was impressed with him is the ultimate understatement.
Here's a comparison of the Aussie Boss 290 intake and a prototype 2000 "R" lower manifold:
The Aussie manifold is on the left of the picture)

And here's something a bit "exotic" sitting in the corner....

Project "R" will have it's motor built in Vero beach, Fl.
Thanks Sooo much Al!! :ORANGE:

Thanks.
Al thinks the motor combination will have some "snap" to it.
It will be built for TORQUE and throttle response!
Should be a tad over 400 RWHP N/A.

Oh it should have "snap" alright

I mean, a stock Mach has plenty of torque at the bottom. That thing will just blow you away, I'm sure.

Birdman,

You're awesome and this project is awesome! I love to see people do things "the right way" if ya know what I mean! I cannot wait to see this car. I only live a few hours from Florida, so maybe when things are all done I check out your ride on one of my frequent trips down south.

How much torque do you expect this motor to pump out in N/A form?

Hopefully a nice, broad band with 400 at peak.

Re: New Project "R" thread

Upper intake is on its way to a fabricator. :ORANGE:
A prototype sheetmetal intake will be made incorporating all necessary items.
Currently progress has slowed until it gets back.
Then I can go back to full speed ahead with development.
Once the intake arrives, I can also start on a shaker bracket
to fit the machs in case someone wants to do that.
I THINK the new intake will clear a standard GT hood.
We will see.
