Valve body question

Okay, was browsing on AM today, and happened across this:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/perfor...body-9604.html

Is this the same as a J-mod? I understand what is involved with the j-mod, but I'm not familiar enough to be able to tell the difference just by looking. The product description claims the same advantages for this product, but doesnt go into any detail on how it works. Thanks!

Re: Valve body question

i dont know about that valve body, but i know on my lightning it was an awesome mod when i changed it to a punisher VB. for 249 its worth a shot. make sure you get a new filter for it. the gasketis reuseable

Re: Valve body question

Lol youre ******** me.... Beaumont? youre like 30 mins away from me :P. More than likely i'll end up getting a new valve body from darrin even though i know its not absolutely necessary to swap a new one in. Don't really trust a shop to get the holes right. It is tempting to try tho, ill have to try and research it some more.

Re: Valve body question

lol, yup... i know theyre not hard to change out, its just messy. its not a necessary mod, but i think theyre worth it, and theyre alot better than bumping up the pressure on a tuner.

Re: Valve body question

yea ive definitely heard around that theyre the way to go! ill be doing exhaust first, and then going to the j-mod and a torque converter. Again if i find confirmation that this product is from AM is what im looking for ill have to try it out, if not ill just talk to darrin. And im no mechanic, but it does seem like something id be able to handle fine.

Re: Valve body question

If it were me, before buying one of these I would talk to Darrin (member on here who builds trannys). I have one of his valve bodies on my tranny. He may be able to get you a better one for the same or less $$. Worth a call.

Re: Valve body question

Haha yea i messaged him a couple days ago! From what ive read he stays pretty busy im in no huge rush. Even IF this is the same thing, i would still more than likely go with one of his products just because of the massive amount of nothing but good feedback he and his products recieve on here. The way i see it i can attempt it myself, screw it up, take it to a shop for them to screw it up, or i can just get one from darrin and be happy lol.

Re: Valve body question

You may be better off calling him. I'm not sure how often he gets on here.

His phone number is on this page.
