broken wheel lock key
The wheel lock key to my Mach broke today when I was trying to remove the wheel locks. The pattern part just sheared off. The lug nuts were the original factory installation and they were TIGHT!! How can I get my locks off? Think a dealer or tire shop will have a key that will work? HELP. I've got to get my snow tires on.

Re: broken wheel lock key
use a 12 point 17mm socket...it will fit over the wheel locks. You'll need to knock the socket over wheel lock with hammer.
Once you get the lug off, you'll have to use a punch or something similar to remove the wheel lock-lug from the socket. Repeat the process for all 4 wheel lock-lugs. EDIT: Since you say the lugs are on pretty tight, I'd make sure to use a 1/2" drive 17mm socket and at least a 12"-18" breaker bar to loosen them.

Re: broken wheel lock key
There is a key number on the card that's in the pouch the lock key came in. There is information on it that allows you to prder a replacement key, and usually the dealerships'll have master keys as well. I had to order a replacement lock lug from McGard (the mfgr.of Ford lock lugs) and they had it back to me in very short order. (There may also be the key number on the key itself, but don't hold me that one)

Re: broken wheel lock key
Your local Ford/LM dealership also has a master key set.
They can get it off for you. Instead of getting a key, price it first. You might be able to get an entire FRPP lug nut set with a new locking lug nuts from Joe Charles (Itlrun) for less. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=4761

Re: broken wheel lock key
I'm just ran into the same problem. Lost my key after changing to the DR's at the track friday nite. I haven't done anything about it yet, since its not my daily driver. But I do know Ford can break them off. When I first purchased my car it did not have a key. So I took it back to ford, and they broke them off and put on a new set. Not sure how much it will cost though, as Ford covered mine.
Hope this helps. Also if you do find out how much if you could post back up, as I will now need to do the same.

Re: broken wheel lock key
That and my garage ate my wheel lock key...for what ford wanted for a new key, it was cheaper to buy 4 new lugs from pep-boys...that and swingin' a hammer is a fine stress relief.
