i used to think "mach1 sightings" were silly....

..... b/c they were not that rare. well here it is two point five years after production stopped and a sighting other than at a cruise-in or ford event is now quite rare. on the road this summer i probably saw less than six machs around here. i may even post up a sighting myself next time.

and if i do see you on the road, don't act like a cobra owner ,
wave the f*** back! lol

Re: i used to think "mach1 sightings" were silly....

It's kinda funny you mentioned this because I rarely ever saw Mach's in SA for the first 2+ yrs I had mine. For whatever reason, I don't think I've gone an entire week this year without seeing another Mach. And for the most part, I rarely ever see the same Mach's (I pay attention to cars and who's driving them). I'm pretty sure I've seen pics of a few of them on the board at some point or another. Not really sure what's up with the recent spike in the Mach population here but it's not cool!! I liked it better when I thought they were rare.

Funny the ppl driving the 3.8s I notice are the least friendly. I try to wave to any Mustang, usually the 3.8 owners 'seem' not to notice me.

I see one go by my house approx 7 to 7:15 in the mornings, Azure Blue with "Shaker" on the plate. Other than that, a rare spotting once in great while

Re: i used to think "mach1 sightings" were silly....

I suspect that the Mach was not widely distributed in some areas and more so in others. It seems the highest concentration of them is TX,FL,& CA.
The lowest areas being; other Countries, northern & central Plains States and the Pacific NW.

I def hardly see any around any more, it's weird. Guess they're sitting on used car lots now or something. I think mine is the only one in the immediate area.

I have seen 3 around here...........in the past 12 months! I think as time goes on you'll see less and less of the mighty one. The ones I have seen are still decent, but you know they are getting ragged on hard.

There is a white 03 5sp at a near by SVT dealer with a ONE OWNER banner in the window.
I hope it goes to a good home.

Re: i used to think "mach1 sightings" were silly....

I've owned my Mach for almost 3 years now and I only seen 1 red one and 1 other DSG in Green Bay. There was A DSG parked in front of my DSG at a movie theater about 2 years ago. Does that belong to anyone here?

Re: i used to think "mach1 sightings" were silly....

SINCE they began production, I have seen 2 on the street and 2 on a dealer's lot. That's it, 4 different Mach's that I have only seen ONE time each since 2003.

This, of course, doesn't include mine.

Re: i used to think "mach1 sightings" were silly....

Life is really a trip sometimes. Here I wrote yesterday I had'nt seen a Mach in my suburb in 2 years and boom, I'm driving down the avenue to go to Quizno's and what do I see coming in the opposite direction? A red Mach. And he turns into the same strip mall as I was going into. I went in and got my sandwich and when I came out the guy in the red Mach whipped into the parking spot next to me. We B.S.'ed for about 5 minutes. That was really cool.

never heard of that before. maybe ohio ain't so bad after all. wow. maybe we should start a thread identifying the location of these rough areas.
sometimes when i go on vacation somewhere, i like to just drive around and get to know the basic layout of the city but its usually a smaller one like myrtle beach for example. it would be nice to know where not to go. this might be a good idea of a new web site to start up. unawaretravalersavoidingroughneighborhoods.com

4 Mach's at MIR Friday night including mine. Was surprised the red Mach I see there all the time wasn't there. I laugh at him because he has drag wheels and tires and has yet to run a 12. Then again, I have a built engine and drive train and have yet to run an 11
