I am looking to buy a black Mach 1 Fuel Door or it could be the polished. Yes, I know that these are very rare but I am seeing if anyone out there selling their car or trading it in has one they would be willing to part with. Or if you just have one and would like to sell it. I found one but the deal fell through.

Wow, that's a good deal and my girlfriend just got me a gift card for AM. I prefer the original Mach 1 stamped doors though.

That was one of the original stamped type. I sold that one because I was fortunate enough to buy one of the engraved type. If I couldn't find one of the engraved I was thinking about buying the same type as the engraved but having a decal put on. AM has them for about $110. I really wanted the Black engraved and would trade the brushed for one. Here's a picture of the AM Door

They are looking for this one....it was made specifically for Mach 1 Registry, but without ford licensing, they stopped making them.

Too bad you did not get a locking one back in the day when MGW was making them till Ford cut them off.

Too true...wish I had bought a spare just in case...or to sell...

Can't underatand why they just didn't keep making them without the Mach 1 engraving...it's a cool locking design.

I'm thinking about selling my Mach...will decide within the week. If I do sell it, I have the black MGW locking fuel door that I would let go, but it's not going to be cheap because it is so rare.

George has a small shop and has to change the tooling for every different product he offers. He has to sell a number of any one item to justify the expense and apparently he can't make money on the fuel doors so he just doesn't even bother making them anymore.

A trademark doesn't mean that no other business can use the name. It only protects that name to the extent that use of the name can harm the holder of the trademark. That means that someone in an unrelated industry is free to use that name because use of the name is not likely to damage the brand or drive potential customers away.
