with the same suspension setup I've run some old MT ET Streets, MT sport comps (no traction at all with my power lol) and something else. They were all the same size (315/35/17)and no issues. The R888Rs caught my **** fender though (I didn't roll the fender far enough toward the front of the car). It pulled that inner fender lip out some and put a nice gouge in the tire but luckily not deep enough to be unsafe.

Re: AFS Mach 1 wheels coming back!

I had a set of those deep dish afs back in the day. Always ran 315-35-17 tires, but I also rolled my fenders and coated them first. Had a brand new goodyear eagle f1 gsd3 get it's sidewall slashed on my old 360R because of this. Car was barely even lowered. Here it is in a family members showroom where it has lived for the past 15yrs..

Re: AFS Mach 1 wheels coming back!

This pic is with cut stock springs (had an 04 IRS at the time) and the deep dish/ 315 combo. It never cut a tire down thanks to the fender rolling. Back in ~2011.

i currently have steeda sport springs with some adjustable shocks/struts, they may have been on the loose side when I cut my Toyo. My fenders were rolled like yours, it wasn't far enough around toward the front

Mine is actually on 18s with 305-35 now. It'll scuff the top of the shoulder transitioning some driveways etc at funky angles, but luckily has still not put a cut into a tire. I don't remember it ever making contact with the deep dish/315 combo. Which makes sense with the overall wheel/tire diameter being greater with the 18s w/305-35 versus the 17s w/315-35 by .72 inch.

What were you doing when it happened?

Mind weighing one when you get them? I never did and have been curious ever since. I think a stock 17x8 comes in around 26lbs?

Re: AFS Mach 1 wheels coming back!

For anyone wanting to figure out which size tire to go with, here's a list of estimated tire heights. I calculated it using Tire Width (mm) X Aspect Ratio divided by 25.4 (to convert to inches) X 2 (for both sidewalls) + wheel diameter = Estimated Tire Height. Please note that this list will get you in the ballpark since every tire brand is slightly different.

245/45-17 = 25.68 (Stock Tire Size)
275/40-17 = 25.66
315/35-17 = 25.68

265/35-18 = 25.30
265/40-18 = 26.34
275/35-18 = 25.57
275/40-18 = 26.66
295/30-18 = 24.96
295/35-18 = 26.13
305/30-18 = 25.20
305/35-18 = 26.41
315/30-18 = 25.44

I ordered a set but I know how you feel. Definitely a little tight right now with the holiday to say the least.

If I get these do I need to roll my fenders? Running Eibach pro springs with stock isolators. Really don't wanna roll the fenders on my car since it's such low mileage. Here's the gap I have now.

No need to roll fenders or anything the fit is spot on. My red Mach was pretty low on eibach springs too

A 315 35 x 17" is a great size that fits the 10.5" rim just perfect & most have no problem with fitting them on our cars. I run them on my 94 GT & just had to reverse the Quad shocks which is simple if needed, about 15 minutes for both. Brand of tires is your choice the dimensions vary a bit by manufacturer. I run cheap tires as it is a show car & I do burnouts etc...only drive about 3000 miles a year.

Missed your reply previously, turned in to my driveway slightly quicker than usual with the shocks toward full loose. I rolled the fenders to the front pretty close to the spot welds, it hasn't happened again.
