Re: Something you don't have
That is most unique!
Down here we have hurricane evacuation routes. They seem to go in the direction of the volcanoes. Scary!

Re: Something you don't have
Got 'em all around us, don't we Russ? My wife and I bought our us on top of a hill so that we don't get flooded by the Green River or caught up in the lahar (volcanic flow) from Mt Rainier or Mt St Helens. The valley floor is about 40 feet above sea level and our house is about 400 feet above sea level, so we're several hundred feet above the risks. And we made sure that the hill we're on isn't steep enough to be a mudslide risk.
One thing we can't escape around here is earthquakes. A home I had in 2001 was cracked and slightly damaged by the Nisqually Earthquake, as were many others around here. Mother nature always wins despite our best efforts. On a side note, head west from our area and the Volcano Evacuation signs are replaced with Tsunami Evacuation signs!!!

Re: Something you don't have
No, we don't have those, but we do have the sirens to warn us of a problem at TMI (Three Mile Island).

Re: Something you don't have
We have sirens also for lehar, which is a raging river of ash, mud and rock.
