Carbon fiber hood question

Finding an OEM hood is not an option. So Im looking at the carbon fiber options. Are all the holes there to OE spec. There are no pics of the underside to see this. Are the holes there? Id liketo be able to reuse my hood liner/insulator from the old hood.

Also I read that they are so light tha lifting up may be an issue while driving. And Id have to add hood pins to keep it down. Is this true?

Re: Carbon fiber hood question

No personal experience, but I've also heard that hood pins are a must. It may vary by manufacturer.

Re: Carbon fiber hood question

I run a Vis Racing carbon fiber cobra hood and there are no provisions for hood insulation. I don't have to use hood pins with my hood either.

Re: Carbon fiber hood question

The only one I know of is the hood from TruFiber.

Re: Carbon fiber hood question

Yeah saw theirs. And they recommend hood pins for safety. Checked their site for more info. While they dont require it. They really suggest it.

Re: Carbon fiber hood question

Anyone still on the forums still running one? Is cracking an issue? Ive read that no matter how well you take care of it, its going to fade and turn yellow. So if I get one Id go a head and have the whole thing painted over like a stock hood instead of leaving the carbon exposed where the stripe would have been.

Would look cool to have carbon fiber showing where the stripe would have been, but if its just going to yellow and tarnish then might as well paint it.
