2014 Eco-Boost Mach 1 to be unveiled at NY Auto Show
Ford has announced today that it will be unveiling the 2014 Mustang Mach 1 at the upcoming New York Auto Show. This continues Ford long standing history of bringing out their most important cars at one of the most prestigious shows held in the United States, including the 2003 Mach that was officially first shown at the 2002 NY show.
The car will be a one year only run, and built in run of 6,500, again like the last Mach 1. Power will be from an Eco-Boost 5.0 V-8 DOHC engine, with an estimates 550hp and uses either a six speed manual or automatic transmission. Unique features will be a 19" slotted dish aluminum wheel, similar to the 1973 Mach 1 wheel, as well as a special interior that will feature simulated wood trim, actual knitted vinyl with a silver accent stripe and cupholder delete. For the exterior, the beltline high stripe will be set off by an adjustable rear wing and a unique aluminum simulated faux gas cap on the rear tail lamp panel. Quad exhaust tips will set it off from the 'run of the mill' Mustangs. Pricing has not been set, but expect it to start in the $45k range for the base model, $49k for the Drag Pak version with lower gear set and other track ready mods, and up to $55k for the April Fools Day version.

Ecoboost v8 tipped me off before reading the bottom. Shoulda said it was gonna have an NA version of the new 5.8L that the 13' Shelby runs. But it was gonna have 11:1 compression and 5XXhp.

I was pissed bc I think it takes away from our cars being unique.
 AND I cant afford $55k for one or the insurance to cover it. But the eco boost made me stop and go, "I dont believe this". Good one though. |

That was the idea...what would be completely absurd in a new Mach 1 that came in original Mach 1s? Woodgrain seemed about right. It was either that or bias ply tires!
