Utterly Amazing!

So the thread telling everyone about a guy scamming people on this site gets deleted/or moved to the mods arena for review perhaps.
Why?
Could my post not be answered?
Will M1R ban these scamming yahoos once and for all?
Will I get banned for stating the obvious?

Stay tuned and see what happens next.

Re: Utterly Amazing!

Someone has to bring awareness. Many have been scammed and the threads are there proving it. Then you search for the scumbag scammer and they are still members here. Its ridiculous.

Re: Utterly Amazing!

it is truly the honest thing for the people in charge to take care of this problem, we don't need people like that being on this site, its the right thing to do and just wrong not to take em out and delete em off of here, it kills me that this hasn't been taken care of sooner and just shows that chite isn't being taken care of,

we need to protect our team/members on here from people that just need to die off from scamming people, that chite rubs me the wrong way that people can't be good people, i'm shock it happens on this forum, i figure it happens on the other ones, but this is a team/family on here and needs to be taken care of, i've been lucky not to have run into one of those dirtbags on a deal, but i know a few on here that have and its truly sad and so wrong, in so many diff ways,

i'm sorry to the honest good people that have been scammed on here, i hope things work out for you and truly i believe the people that have scammed others will gets what coming to them in life, one way or another

Re: Utterly Amazing!

I agree.

They should be banned immediately.

And there should be a tally of usernames and the emails they registered under for us to view in a separate section on the forum. Because that one guy was scamming under the same email he previously used, and the username was only a few numbers off the previous username he was scamming under.

We should also have a section where we can report shady activity from sellers. Once I posted it up there were 5 other ppl that posted saying oh ya he seemed shady to me too. Its like wtf, why didn't everyone post it up earlier and get the a$$ hole banned before he had a chance to scam another 5 ppl. Soon as the username appears shady, they should get the boot.

the reason i didn't say anything was cuz i didn't have any proof to put there name out there when i didn't lose anything from em, i just had a feeling, but didn't get scammed from the guy cuz i ended up stoping before any more got sent and its been the same before with other guys that were shady, i didn't deal with em and i'm not going to put up false info on a guy if its not true, it maybe a great guy, but i have no proof to back it up, so that is where a few people prob why they don't put it up that they get a werid feeling, also it seem that he hit a few of ya'll at one time, it wasn't over a period of time, where ya'll who have dealt with him could get his name out there to people to watch out,

the thing is think about it this way, for say you banned someone, all they have to do is make a new email address and then a new username and there you go they have a new one, i still think go ahead and banned that user name, but really there are ways to getting around it, everyone just needs to be careful on who they buy from. i've been lucky not to have be scammed before, but i know it could happen and has happen,

Maybe have everyone register with site with verifiable name/address/phone prior to being allowed to list.

And/or only allow sales by anyone that is verified by either a verified member or the above listed items.

I wouldn't mind having to verify who I am prior to being allowed to sell an item. Ebay makes you do that don't they?

that is a great ideal, but like for myself i've been on here for sometime and many members know me and its kinda like something extra i have to do when i sell or buy, i would though just to comfirm things, but i think its just there are so many members that come and go and you only have a small group that stay on here, to where trust can be there, i use to have a diff username a while back that i had from 2006 and then switched user name so it made me look like a new guy, i've had really good luck though. i would consider doing that to verify who people are. i do like the ideal somewhat of getting the picture and putting the date or username on there

Re: Utterly Amazing!

It really comes down to the buyer and sellers responsibility. Its easier for us to verify if someone is legit, then it would be for this forum to do it. We just need to be smart buyers and sellers. That's really all there is to it.

Re: Utterly Amazing!

I don't trust anyone with less than 15,500 posts unless I KNOW them.

I got burned awhile back with a powdercoating thing. Well there was probably 10 of us total. I've had good luck otherwise. I'm a mod on another site which has a unique way of handling scammers. We kill them and there have been no complaints so far. Haha, we kill complainers too.

Sounds like it's been a real issue recently.

Re: Utterly Amazing!

If I owned a site I'd probably be more "hands-on".

Its a shame that someone can have multiple accounts and still be a member, ripping off decent folks.

yeap its just a shame really, but you have them people who just have to do wrong to others, i think what its going to come down to is the buyer/seller on how everything works out. i don't think the program this site runs off of could do what like paypal does. but i do for sure think we need to start a list of people. would be nice to find out prob 2 to 3 years ago, what members to watch for and put there name on a list, i know it would be hard to get all of em, but worth a try

agreed, i was just writing that down, that i don't think the site can do like what paypal does, might not have the stuff to support that. but i just think it comes down to the buyer and seller, like stated above and i have said so myself that you can get a guy that could open a whole new email address and get a new username, there are ways around it, so like you said and i agree for sure, it will come down between the buyer/seller on how the transaction goes

Re: Utterly Amazing!

A rating system would solve this. SVTPerformance has one... I've got plenty of reviews there, and I would have just as many here, but instead you just have to take someone's word for it..

The review count's go under the user name..

+1 I do the majority of my buying and selling on The Corral and SVTP because of the trader rating system. No rating = no dealing.
