Many years ago, there was a guy in south La. advertising for a 68 1/2 Cobra Jet air cleaner. Rare and expensive, the ad for the air cleaner ran for many months. I got in touch with the person running the ad and he gave me permission to come see the car. As he wouldn't be home, he left the barn (yes, really... barn) open so we coudl see the car...

We looked all around...

The odo showed less than 70k miles...

And the VIN...

And...the rest of the story...

When we walked out of the dark barn we saw across the street...

And then engine in the KR...

Neither car was for sale at the time, but have both since been sold...

Neither was for sale at the times, but both have been sold in the years since. I wish I had gotten a side shot of the KR as it had homemade stripes...obviously so.

Here is a rare barn find story a guy at our local car show found
a 70 Plymouth Barracuda (grand coupe) 383 4speed car
husband died and wife sold it, origanal owner car.
Drives it to the shows..................

They seem to be everywhere and I'm not trying to be funny. The 427 in my car was a barn find. The engine came with a set of NOS nascar cap screw rods still in their original boxes along with the original 3 barrel holley carburetor that my engine was raced with.

My '69 Grande' was stored in a barn when I got it. Granted, it was a really big barn, and more garage than animal shelter, but it was a barn in design and construction.

I know of a 69 Yellow Boss 302 sitting up on jacks also with 75,000 original miles..it i strted every month & runs smooth...interior is perfect but the paint is faded a bit...guy will not sell it drive it or let me take a pic! In fact he won't let me see it anymore.

That's a shame. There's a local guy who has a white '69 Boss 302 that hasn't seen the light of day in over 15 years. Sitting up like it has has seriosuly taken its toll on the car in every way possible. That's why I decided to sell my Grande' when I did. I didn't want the same fate for it.
