Re: College Football back in full swing!

A few weeks ago I thought it was going to be LSU and Ohio State in a show down. LSU is now out of it, but Ohio State can still sneak right back into this thing.

I don't think we'll need to fire him, we should see him in Michigan colors next season...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Oh, wow.
Les Miles staying on as LSUs head coach.
LSU wins the SEC Championship.
#1 is down in their game.
#2 is only seconds from losing as I type this.
What a season it's been...and it's not over yet!

I hope LSU plays Ohio State and does what Florida did to them last year. Go SEC!!!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

This is going to be a long day for a lot of teams waiting for the BCS bolw selection show. There are a number of tems that have a case for that trip to New Orleans. LSU obviously has the best case (IMHO), and anyone that wants to argue against it can go discuss it with our mascot in his cage. VT is in a good position, but after our beating them by a 'few' points, I don't see it as a strong case. Georgia didn't win the SEC or even thier division, so count them out. Kansas can't count on its fantasy season to get them there. I do see strong cases for both Oklahoma and (as much as I hate saying it) USC getting there due to their recent play. USCs losses came at a time when their QB was hurt or out. LSU did win yesterday, but not big. We played with our second string QB, did without many key players for most or all of the game. That game was a rally for our guys to give back to a coach who made his stand with and for us for the long run...unlike that highly paid 'Bama coach...Satan!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Congrats to LSU on winning the SEC Championship. Im sooooo glad you guys beat Tennessee.

Im going to say it will be OSU getting beat by LSU in the NC game. LSU did win the SEC Championship game to the #14 team in the BCS standings. Not some unraked UCLA like USC beat. Sucks for Georgia being ranked #4, but if you dont win the conference, I dont think you should be up for the NC game.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Thanks...it was a long day. It started out with ESPN reporting that Miles was oficially going to Michigan. A similar story was the front page headline of the local paper. The news spread around the city like...a hurricane. Then there was word of his quick announced press conference. Then he officially says he's staying. Whew! Then the game...no pushover, the Tennessee Volunteers. They deserved to be in that game, and Ainge is a more than capable QB. We were glad to win, and we hope to be in New Orleans a week later than we thought...only the Ronco BCS Bowl-A-Matic supercomputer will spit out the final decision...a long 10 hours from now...

Hawaii somehow turned things around after I fell asleep. I suppose that means they will be in one of the BCS games.

If we want to get into excuses. Yall lost to an unranked ARk team. And your other loss was not exactly to a powerhouse. OH I forgot Lsu is undefeated in regulation time, they only loss in ot. so, ummm no. Week two of season doesnt mean jack. Lsu is not the same team. We are def not the same team. Look at stats our two qb system is clicking. Sean Glennon is money now, as with Tyrod. Our line was beat to hell in week 2. LSU had all kinds of chances at #1 and they could not win when it counted. If yall get into BSC (BULL S*** championship) game it will be for media purpose only. Our two losses came to #2 ranked teams. We fixed one of those with BC yesterday. How bout a rematch

Wink Re: College Football back in full swing!

Well, VT didnt show me they are a powerhouse yesterday either. I know its a pipe dream, but the 10th ranked Gators would kick VT and LSUs azz right now.

OK, so then we cut to the third week of the schedule and don't bother playing the first two? Every game counts...that's why these guys play the game. Winning or losing should be just as critical in the first week as it is in the last week. Just like in any sport, be it football, car racing, or golf (is that really a sport).

In college football, early season losses have always meant less than losing late in the season. Look back over the season(s) and see. Just this season GA looked like crap early, but all the sudden they are one of the hottest teams??? USC lost to stanford early but now they are the hottest team by many experts??? How can a a number two team in the nation loss to an unranked team just a couple/few weeks ago?? Bottom line is any of the top 5 to 6 teams (OSU, LSU, UGA, OK, VT and even HAWAII) have valid arguments for and against. Perfect time to start an 8 team playoff.

I think you might be right. All of a sudden LSU is not stopping the run quite as well. As for VT, if they played in the SEC they would be 5-7, just like Ohio State.

Ah yes. The mighty sec, no one out of conference can compete with those schools. Lets see, Bama lost to Florida Stae and UL monroe. Roll tide. Auburn lost to South Florida. Miss State lost to WVA. Tenn lost to Cal. and Vande lost to Wake Forest. You are right OSU and VT would be lucky to win 5 games????
