Squeaking in tranny area?

So I have what I would describe as a squeak coming from the transmission area. It sounds like a bad pulley would sound, but it isnt coming from the front of the engine. Throwout bearing was replaced by the dealer because they said that was the reason also clutch was replaced as well. However, if I press the clutch pedal down at all (even 1/16 of an inch) the squeak goes away. Any Ideas? I was just wondering if this was a problem that happends all the time or something I will have to get on a lift to find out.

Re: Squeaking?

Doesn't mean it's a good throw out bearing just because they recently replaced it, they had a rash of bad ones for a while....I had mine done 2 times in less then 12000 miles.!!

(Also, post meaningful Subjects, not just SQUEAKING?)

Definitely TOB. Mine is bad too, just dreading having to drop the trans because of my long tubes...

Re: Squeaking in tranny area?

Just replaced my TOB today, old one was completely trashed came off in 2 peices. I was really looking forward to not having a squeeky Mach, well....after I got everything back together..Installed LDC Freeplay while I was at it, Started it up and STILL squeeking. So I broke everything back down..."Serious waste of time shoulda checked during first break down" looked at the pressure plate and noticed that the tines that the TOB pushes aginst. They were bent a little, I guess from the bad TOB. So going to replace it and see if that fixes it.. And if I'm not mistaken the LDC Freeplay mod does not help keep the TOB from touching the Pressure plate it just keeps a little pressure on the clutch fork to keep it from having to much play from not having the self adjusting "Stock" quadrant. please correct if I'm wrong..not an expert

Re: Squeaking in tranny area?

you can try a firewall and quadrant, but it is most likely the TOB
