A/C compressor bypass pulley broke
After about 8 years of use, the A/C bypass tensioner pulley that I bought from Paul's HP broke. The casing just shattered, causing a loss of tension and then causing me to loose the belt. Luckily I was close to home and was able to limp home without an alternator or water pump. Couldn't find anyone else selling the bypass tensioner pulley. May have to opt for an A/C compressor eliminator pulley since my compressor is seized and I dont use A/C anyway.

Re: A/C compressor bypass pulley broke
I havent seen anyone else make a setup like that in a long time, I wish they made those for the 3 bolt timing cover.. Id love to have a short belt.

Re: A/C compressor bypass pulley broke
Wont a shorter belt just make up for the a/c location delete? I think the stock tensioner should still provide tension even with the belt going straight from the crank to the pass. idler pulley.

Re: A/C compressor bypass pulley broke
There's no way to route a shorter belt with the stock tensioner. That's why I bought a kit from Paul's HP years ago. So yesterday I ended up yanking the a/c compressor and installed an eliminator pulley. Pulley and bracket seams very cheaply made. We'll see how long it holds up.
