Didja notice???

On our main page, at the bottom, there are various statistics about the site. One really big number stood out to me today as we crested over 1.5 million posts.
1.5 MILLION!

That's pretty impressive, and I know we're not a busy as we use to be, but wow!

Re: Didja notice???

and ASH302 certainly did his share with 30,000+ posts to add to the total! Glad to have him back. Thanks for the input from some of the tried and true members, some who have been banned, some who have passed away, some that still read but no longer post, and some who have contributed over all these years. With some help of some new members we'll be at the 2 million mark before you know it.

Thanks to Dave for making it all possible. Thanks to falcongtho3 for keeping us all in line.

Re: Didja notice???

No, y'all make it easy being part of this online community. I've seen others vanish or come apart even on cars that are still being built. This is about a car that hasn't seen production in over 16 years. But it's long ago become about the people and not just the sheet metal.

Family values are strong here.

Glad Ash is back too.
Have to admit I started to wonder about him after not posting for awhile.

Re: Didja notice???

Nice stat.. Chatty bunch we are!!

My Mach 1 is up for sale. Can't afford the insurance for a car that is basically just sitting. Have an interested party, a friend so it won't be too far away and possibility of buying it again.

Oh boy... why not drive it? Collectors insurance can be inexpensive. Just an option. Since you don't drive it much it should be easy to get, plus you will set an agreed upon value which can be as much as you want.

Sorry to hear.

For me, it was the spousal-unit that started nagging about paying for insurance on a car that wasn't driven (maybe run up and down the street once a month). Then the offspring was about to start college. Plus, the tires were getting worn out and I didn't really want to spend $$$ on new tires to sit and dry-rot.
But selling wasn't an option, so ended up parking the car with only storage insurance on it. Don't remember what the storage insurance cost, but pretty sure I spent more going out to eat each month.

Dang, that sucks! I understand, though. I was limit mine to just cruising and what not. I ended up hardly driving it at all. I ended up deciding to drive it to work on nice days or to run errands. That picked up the miles to somewhere around 3k to 5k per year. Not a lot, but much more than before. It sucks leaving it out in a parking lot all day at work, but the enjoyment I've been getting to and from work has really been uplifting lol. I honestly don't know how car collectors do it. I can't imagine owning a car I never drive. I guess you have to experience it to understand.

I may need to check that out! I like the idea of value agreement.

I have a few vehicles and so do my kids. We currently pay about $7,000 a year just for insurance. It kills me to leave the car sit, I have a friend who asked about the car a few times so he's buying it. Him and his son wanted something to be able to take to car shows and to play with a bit so I feel good about that (father & son). He has a garage to store it in where I do not. And if they ever sell it I want to be offered first.

I currently own
2020 GMC 2500 HD
2011 GT500
2003 Mach 1
1964 Chevelle station wagon
my 2 sons have 5 vehicle's between them and my wife had an small SUV. And I live on a 50 X 170 foot size lot

The answer is get rid of the kids.... lol

Re: Didja notice???

I got my Mach out for the first time in August and we had a Deracho go through here (monster storm with 120mph winds). I have yet to get it out since even though nothing happened to it.
