ABS light on

I think the ABS module is shot. At one point, I noticed I was low on brake fluid, I topped it off and the light went away. But last year, I put brand new brakes on all 4 wheels, I didnt completely replace all the brake fluid, but did bleed and replace a good amount with new.

Is it worth trying to replace the ABS module, or just go without? Car gets driven maybe 3,000 miles per year (if that).

If not, is there any way to turn off the ABS light?

Re: ABS light on

Mine has been on for a long time...probably 10 years...it is likely the module as they are known for failures. speed sensors could be the issue too, but more often its the module...

Re: ABS light on

Mine was coming on intermittently and it turned out to be the module. Has it replaced and it hasn't come back on since.

Re: ABS light on

I had a wheel speed sensor go out once. It threw a code and was easily diagnosed. Have you scanned it yet?

Re: ABS light on

on my 2004 it was on for year and I didn't mess with correcting the issue, it was a sensor, but I never cared enough to replace it.

Re: ABS light on

Thx for the replies all. I have a bluetooth OBDII scanner and Torque app, but no codes pop for it...I doubt those are capable of checking the ABS codes though.

Its been like this for years now...car still brakes fine, and I generally only drive it in "good" weather, so I'll probably just leave it alone...maybe put some black electrical tape over it so it quits staring at me LOL.

Re: ABS light on

I fixed mine ...not that bad of a job, you could always take out the light in the cluster.

Well if it makes you feel any better I was mainly at Fort Lewis, WA so there isn't many days of good weather, honestly it felt the same on braking and so that is why I never messed with it.
