Air to Air intercoolers that fit behind oem crash bar?

looking for something that supports 800-1000 rwhp, anything out there worth a **** that fits behind the factory crash bar?

The current procharger intercooler has large tanks top and bottom that block a significant portion of the radiator and other designs seem to have much smaller tanks on the ends allowing improved airflow and cooling.

I like to cut on my car as little as possible as its a street car, not a race car.

Any suggestions?

Re: Air to Air intercoolers that fit behind oem crash bar?

Though I can't help you with advice on this one, I always wondered about cooling issues with the bigger intercoolers.

In the pictures I've seen, the intercooler blocks so much of the radiator, I always wondered how it cools.

Hope you find what you're looking for. The Procharger must make it a blast to drive!

I don't know how well it'll fit but the Treadstone TRv259-0 would be a good choice for you. I've been looking for an intercooler myself since my procharger unit sits behind my bumper and gets no air flow. I think im going with the treadstone TR1045 (I dont want to do any cutting either). My intake temps were at 165+ with the PC intercooler on a humid day and 98 degree weather..

I believe someone makes a tubular crash bar for extra clearance .

Donothen (Tim) racing in Ohio makes mine. Stock P1 3 core but lots of room. Perfect fit also. Very nice piece.

Ive seen em but no idea how they hold up in accident is my concern

I was looking around treadstones site the other day but I dont have any measurements on what will fit our cars with the stock stuff. Id also be interested to find one where I can mount my slot style MAF in the end tank (tuner's suggestion). Apparently with a good intercooler it gives a great signal and loads of head room on the MAF voltage.

Re: Air to Air intercoolers that fit behind oem crash bar?

Jeff,

Are you running and electric water pump? If not, I would seriously consider it! I believe they advertise 55GPM flow. I had mine wired to the accessory system so with the engine off I could run the WP and turn on the heater blower motor and cool the car down lickity split!

BTW, good to see you still have yours! One of these days we need to meet up again.

Greg
