It took me a second to figure out we weren't SW anymore, but I'm here now.

Ditto, Looks like the Central region...............cause Texas is so big!

My next outing with the Black Beast will most likely be in February. Fixin' to pull the motor for the winter project. I'll be glad when it's finished. Last outing was great. Happy Holidays to all the Oklahoma Shakers!!

Bought some drive-on ramps today. Thinking I can back the car up the ramps and then start lifting the front. Get the front up high enough on the jack stands for the motor/trans to clear the front bumper. Might have to pull the chin spoiler for extra space but I think I can get it high enough to clear. I also bought some 2" casters and intend to build a mini-creeper/dolley for the motor/trans to sit on when lowered. Then roll it out from under the car. Pull the tranny/bellhousing/clutch and flywheel. Then the accessories and intake. Build a stand to support the motor in transit, drop it off at the shop on the 10th of Jan, get the valve covers powder coated and then sit and wait. Forged rods/pistons/ new bearings/ balanced/heads ported and new cams installed. Shop says 3-4 weeks to get it done. Now thinking I might need to go with some larger injectors. Need to do some more research! Once the motor is back I intend to get the accessories back on, new ported lower intake and all the associated wiring/hardware, install the headers and put it all in as an assembly. Still trying to decide on long tubes or midlengths. I need to get with Kerleyfries for the longtubes.

I sure hope I am NOT making a mistake here. I'm sure once it is together I will be very satisfied........but who knows!

Thanks again Keven for the offer and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and Kathy!

Rob, it may be some disease contagious to the owners of black Mach 1's. One of the symptoms seems to be a disregard for warranty concerns combined with an overwhelming need for speed. Right now I just want my new shortblock to get here It's been about 8 weeks since I ordered it. Doesn't look like I'll have my project completed in February as I leave to go overseas in just a few days. More and more I'm wishing I had gone the tried-and-true centrifugal route instead of twin-screw. Hopefully the end result will be worth the headaches.

Kevin

YES, I was just going to do the cams and valves, but that leads to "while I'm at it, I might as well............" So, I decided to go forged internals (pistons/rods and get it balanced) as insurance of knowing WHAT I have. My plans are still to stay N/A and I like those cams in Clints Mach. I have the head change kit and FR500 cam kit in the garage. Besides, the suspension/driveline is already complete. Gears, Dif, Girdle, driveshaft, axles, springs, control arms, bumpsteer, c/c plates, headers/midpipe/ aircharger/upper intake/ are also complete. If I nail it, I don't want it to break. That's my insurance policy. My mileage is at 15,992.3 as it sits in the garage. I figured 16k miles is a good place to pull the motor. I'm sure I'm spending more money than necessary to get the hp/tq but I like the N/A route. And I agree, it must be the Black Mach owners with the exception of James in Tulsa who wants to mod the Mach's. And if James had it his way............I bet he would be modding too! In fact, he might be...............and we just don't know it!

Kevin I hope you get your shortblock before your next departure. I know how anxious you are to get it here.

.........and like Mustangdude, "Merry Christmas" and Happy Holidays to all the Mach owners out there!!

I can guarantee you that I would be doing something if my physical condition would let me. But I still enjoy it the way it is.
