33-But I've been around a lot of Mustangs. I see them every day at work, but it's cool when you get to work on those Mustangs that still look brand new and they're 20+ years old. We also see a lot of cars that are beat to death. I got to see my Mach when it was unloaded from the car carrier and has plastic covering everything.

Oldie but (still) FAST!
I would imagine I am in the upper echelon of age when it comes to Mach 1 buyers. But I was 15 (and salivating/drooling) when the 1964 Mustang was introduced. So just because I'm getting "on up there" in age doesn't mean I've lost my enthusiasm for these cars. I have a close friend who bought a new 1969 Mach 1 the week before he got married and he and his wife took it on their honeymoon. They still have the car today and it looks (and runs) exactly like it did some 35 years ago.

First Ford in all those years. If they make a Shelby GT, I'll probably make it two.

27 here, went from a 2001 GT to a 2003 Mach1. Oh, the guy two posts up that is 17... holy ****... your insurance must be stellar. Maybe you should have waited a bit, but at least you are proud of your car... just don't do the typical 17 year old thing and wrap it around a pole or some such!

Nah, I'm careful, well as careful as can be. I don't obey many speedlimits but for the 2 years I've been driving I have never been pulled over. The one time I actually did get pulled over was when I did donuts in a mall parking lot with friends in the car (I forgot there were illegal substances in the car too.) We had to get out of the car and everything, but all I got was a verbal warning, not even a curfew ticket. That was in my first car, a 91 nissan 300zx (n/a)
Then I got a 2000 GT Mustang because the engine in the Z blew up (176,000 miles.) I drove that for 6 months with no tickets until a drunk driver ran a red light while I was turning left and sent my car spinning into the salvage yard. After that came the Mach, because my dad felt bad for me. I had wanted a Trans Am since the 300zx and the GT was a compromise. Now it was time to step up from the GT, and the cobra wasn't an option. So in came the Mach, and there are no complaints from me, and no tickets. I put a lot of self-earned money and work into my car though, I love it. Insurance is around $2600 a year |
