Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
Must have been a great game looking at the numbers..unfortunately I didn't get to see it because I'm dealing with the flu bug...first Duke UNC game I've missed since I can remember...hats off to UNC...hopefully Duke can return the favor later this year.

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
Congrats to UNC and NC ST. Can't figure out Wake. Some nights they don't show up.

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
UNC's early loss to BC doesn't seem so bad now. Just more support for 8 ACC teams playing in the postseason.

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
Thankfully, UNC pulled the win out in Miami after Lawson turned it on. I knew it would be a tough game against the Canes at home. UConn went down, which helps UNC overall.
Go HEELS!!

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
hey it looks like nobody wants to be number one because they dont stay at number one very long! excellent game last night with uconn and pitt! its seemed like some of the calls could have gone either way but hasheem thabeet couldnt stay outta foul trouble and the 4th foul i didnt think was legit but thats sports for ya! and blair is just unstoppable and Fields came on late with 2 killer 3's but uconn lost there best player we will see how they do without him i still see uconn as a number one seed same as pitt and i see oklahoma and unc with the number ones seeds!!!
and by the way DUKE FANS !!! Your team can't stop anyone on defense its going to be UNC takin It home this year!!!! ROLL TARHEELS ROLL!!!

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
maybe wake more so than duke....but wake will be strong come tourney time and probably will go further than unc....in the end it won't be an ACC school who wins it...my opinion

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
To pick 4 at this point would be asking alot...you never know where certain teams are going to land...it could very well end up where an ACC school has an easy run to the title game but I just feel there are match ups problems from certain ACC schools if they do fall that way...UNC has the talent to win it all and should be the favorite but they have yet to play at a high level consistently...we shall see but for right now its just too soon...too many unknown factors

I do have to disagree about UNC's consistency. I think they have played more consistent than any other team out there this year...which is why they have managed to climb from 0-2 and dead last in the ACC to #1 with 2 games ahead and will likely take over as #1 nationally if Oklahoma makes a mistake. Other teams have tried to figure out ways to shut them down like Wake and BC did, but UNC has learned how to overcome that. Take out Hansborough and Lawson takes over. Shutdown Lawson and Ellington can step up. That's what makes UNC so dangerous this year...opponents can't just take out one player because they have figured out how to make up for it. If you want to talk about a dangerous team that plays inconsistently, just look at BC. I think they are a real threat for any championship...as long as the stars line up right. |

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
Great win for UNC last night at home. We are defiantly hitting our stride. The only thing is Zelwiger needs more court time to get his legs under him. They've played without him all year, and it showed. He has a bright future, but he has a lot of ground to make up. Still hate to see Ginyard on the sidelines, too.

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
It would be a shame for him to lose a whole year. He is one of the best def. players that I've seen in years. ( lost art )

Re: Official NCAA Basketball Thread
You know, I'll burn my 1000th post on the Reg to say this:
UNC deserved to lose, if it was fair and square. But the fact Lawson was knocked down not once but twice and no call made it the sorry-est excuse for a NCAA basketball game I've seen all year. Congrats to the Turtles for their upset victory - they remain an inconsistant and dangerous giant-killer. Of course, who will care when UNC makes the Final Four, again. And Mary-land is playing the NIT or South American league. |
