First Mustang
Moving from 94 Firebird Formula to 04 Mach1. Seems the selection of rear wheel drive high horsepower sports cars has dwindled some. The GTO does nothing for me and I liked the looks of the Mach1 as soon as I saw it (though I wish it came in silver). I drove the SVT Cobra and then 4 Mach1s while deciding. I chose the Mach1 because of its looks, off the line quickness (incredible), and long term reliability features compared to the SVT (solid rear axle and no blower).
Yes, my first Mustang.

I just traded an '02 GT (Premium) for my new Mach 1 last night! Previously, I had owned an '88 GT.
I'm an 'old' Ford guy at heart, though. I've owned F150's (2), an Explorer, and I drive a '99 Ranger 4x4 Super Cab to work on rainy days. Bill 2004 Oxford White Mach 1 5-Speed with IUP #178667 |

I've owned 3 explorers and 2 F150s in the past, all were company cars. The mach is my first stang and the only car with real balls that I have ever owned. I started saving three years ago for an '03 Cobra when I first heard the rumors they were coming out with a factory blown stang. The dealership called when my red vert cobra came in but I had just happened to see a Mach at another dealership the week before. Gave up my deposit on the Cobra and the rest is history! This is the car for me. I've also added a '03 Explorer limited and a '00 F150 4x4 Off Road since then. FORD ROCKS!!!

I bought my first mustang in 1972, which I have restored and still have. I also have a 72 Mach 1, medium bright yellow that I restored in 1996. It is a 351 cobra jet with 4spd and all original. I purchased 2001 GT in october of 2001. Two weeks ago I went to the ford dealer to have a super chip installed in it and found a 2004 torch red Mach 1 setting in the show room . Had to have it and the rest is history. Excellent car and is a leap in technology from the early mustangs. I think that it will be a keeper.

Don't know if this counts but my first mustang was a 1977 Mustang II. Even though it was ugly and slow I had more fun in that car. My 04 MACH I is my first V-8 Mustang and did I pick a real winner. The fun I had in my Mustang II that I drove for three years doesn't even compare to the the last two days I drove my MACH I, of course.

I had a 2000 black V6. I thought about getting the white Mach 1 but the black looks too good when it's clean. I'am thinking of getting all black wheels and black tips for the exhaust. Might as well go all out.

Bought my first one when I got out of Nam. I bought a 1970 Mach 1 on Saturday, November 22, 1969, from Premiere Ford in Brooklyn, NY. It was Grabber Orange with detroit locker, stereo tape deck, magnum 500 wheels, fold down seat, louvres, shaker scoop, front spoiler, rear spoiler.(back then the shaker scoop, louvers front/rear spoiler and magnum 500 wheels were all options). It had a C6 automatic tranny, 351C four barrel Cleveland engine, tinted glass, power steering, power disc brakes up front. Took it off the truck with 1 2/10 miles on it. I didn't let them make it ready. Kept the car until 1986, and I sold it to a land developer who wanted it for his collection. It had 7,000 miles on it.
I bought my 2004 DSG with interior upgrade option.....get this.... on November 22, 2003 with .04 miles on it. It was even a Saturday, the same as my first. It wasn't even planned that way. I never realized it until I got home and my wife looked through the scrapbook. I took it off the truck with all it's wrappings and brought it right home. It's been sitting in the garage and I have 57 miles on it.

This is my first mustang. I have always loved them I just never was able to get one when I was younger. Now that I am 29 I can & I am accused of going thru an early mid life crisis.

My Mach is not my first Mustang. My first was a 1980 2.3L hatchback. If I'm not mistaken, I think the engine put out 87 horsepower. It was a crappy little car, but it got me from Point A to Point B. Next came a black '87 GT. A real love/hate relationship - I loved how it drove, except during Michigan winters. I could only afford one car at the time, so it was my daily driver. I sold it in '90.
Besides the Mach, I currently own a red '98 GT with the Sport appearance package. The car is beautiful, but I'll have to give it up now that I have the Mach. I came by my love of Mustangs honestly. When I was a kid, my dad won a brand new 1970 Mustang in a church raffle. And as they say, the rest is history...

Had a '99 Silver V6. Looked and ran great, but couldn't pass on the Mach. Hope it's the first of many.
