Re: College Football back in full swing!

The last few minutes of that 'Bama game made no sense. 'Bama goes for it on 4th down when they could have kicked a 32 yard field goal, but they did'nt because they don't trust their kicker. Then 'Bama comes down again, but decides to kick a 44 yard field goal???

Then with 10 seconds left, 'Bama runs a play but the play clock never moved off 10 seconds. They only ran off 3 seconds when the play was already over. That play took longer than 3 seconds, so their would have NEVER been 1 second left in that game for the miracle touchdown. It should have gone to Overtime.

Wow. What a game. After watching (barely) LSU squeak one out over Arkansas, I thought I'd seen enough SEC drama for one weekend. I was wrong.

Did Satans head explode yet?

He'll be packing up for Austin tonight...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

My Spartans got through the season with just one loss! After the game I was rooting for the Wolverines to win at home against Ohio State! Anyway they came up short on the 2 point conversion and the Buckeye's went 12-0.

So what is next for my Spartans!!!!!! Can't wait to watch the game.

Next up for MSU

With Michigan going for 2.Nothin to lose. go for the win and brake little Satans heart. Go MSU. It will be great for Ohio St. to be so close and have it taken away in the Big 10 Champ. game.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Saban isn't going anywhere, though I wouldn't blame him with all the fair weather fans and what not. We had a bad game and got beat. It happens. If it were easy to go 12-0 everyone would do it, and if it were easy to win National Championships, ever one would do it. What Alabama was trying to do was a monumental task, but it was in our grasp. Now it is out of our hands and we just have to move on. Haters will keep hating, but I will continue to root on my team and Coach Saban. Roll Tide!

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Mack Brown, the Texas football coach who led the Longhorns to the 2005 National Championship and ranks second at the school in career victories (158) behind Darrell Royal, resigned on Saturday after 16 seasons. Brown will finish his Texas career in the Alamo Bowlagainst Oregon on December 30.

He resigned less than 24 hours after Nick Saban, the Alabama coach, signed a contract extension at Alabama.

Did I see Tony (Mr Interception) Romo playing for Alabama last night in the Sugar Bowl? Sure looked like it.

Sooners 45 - 31. Ouch!

College don't pay enough for Romo....besides college doesn't have the national tv opportunities as the nfl to show the nation how to Romo a game.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Roll Tide anyway. Time to reload for next season. Good luck to Charlie Strong at Texas. I'm not sure how he will do there, but we will soon find out. The last BCS Championship game comes on tonight. I can't stand either team, so I don't care who wins. I wish they could both lose. lol.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

The sermon in Waco today was from the Book of Miracles Chapter 61, Verse 58!

For those not in the Bible Belt.....# 5 Baylor came from a 21-point deficit in the 4th quarter to beat # 9 TCU with a last second field goal to win 61 - 58. Quite a few of the Baylor faithful left at the start of the 4th quarter to get in line to eat (or get a Big O at George's), but I doubt they will do that next time.

If anyone should be hitting the churches, it's the good people of Mississippi. With the way State and Ole Miss are running the tables, it's truly nothing short of a miracle!

Speaking of miracles! As a non-interested observer I watched the end of the first half of the Ole Miss game and saw a LSU team that couldn't make an interception or hold onto the ball and couldn't score. At the half the LSU coach said "we got them right where we want them". Turned on after the game and the filed was covered with a million LSU fans.

It did help Baylor though.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

That was a long last few minutes. The Tigers tried oh so hard to lose that game, but Ole Miss just wouldn't let them.
It's amazing to see the stat on LSUs wins with them trailing into the fourth quarter. They're the only 1A team over 50%, and lead Texas, the next closest team, by a wide margin. It's also the first Game Day game we've ever won.

Next:Bama...crap...

Re: College Football back in full swing!

Kinda' quite in here!

It was a good day (Saturday) to be in Waco, Texas.

ESPN College Game Day was in town. A first for Baylor. Baylor beat Kansas State (#9) by eleven points 38 - 27. They were rated #6 in the Playoff Battle. The Baylor peeps were disappointed in not getting into the Final Four. Very disappointed.

Can't imagine how TCU felt though. They were in the #3 slot for the Playoffs. They win 55 - 3 not allowing a TD. They took it easy on Iowa State in the 4th quarter even taking a knee a couple of times. BUT they still slipped to #6 in the Playoffs. Now how could that happen.

Don't think a Big 12 team will ever make The Final Four even if they were undefeated. Florida State almost didn't make it and they were undefeated and defending National Champs. Their QB will get the book thrown at him when the season is over.

Re: College Football back in full swing!

I wanted the playoff so freaking bad. I finally get it, but now they are trying to ruin it. It was soooooo simple. Keep the BCS and just take the top four teams.
