Re: Trivia for today
Fords sister to the smaller size Cougar wagon was the Ford LTD. This is the point in time where the LTD and Crown Victoria names split their ways. The wagon had a 255 V-8 optional with a 200 cid inline standard. I'm a little vague on its last year. It seems to have been around '86 or so. (More trivia, the 5.0 HO engine was used in the smaller body LTD Police package and was available in the civilian version. The PD cars had a split exhaust tip like a Mustang and the civilian cars had a single oval tip.)

Re: Trivia for today
Sorry, no. The Monarch was the Mercury sister to the Granada and the Lincoln version was the Versailles. Some of those even came with 351 VV engines, and there was a 4 wheel disc brake option that has found its was to many vintage Mustangs.

Re: Trivia for today
Nope, good guess though. I realize now my question was kind of tricky, and i apologize for not clarifying. I meant the first, regardless of production. Now that I have worded it fairly, I will see if there is any other guesses.

Re: Trivia for today
There you go. Nice one. I knew I didn't word it right.
The K code saw production with the fairlanes and comet cyclones. I am not sure which one was first though.

Re: Trivia for today
Excuse me if I am a little offended by your post. Not everyone has been exposed to all of mustang history. I will GLADLY take ANY challenge you through my way regarding the K motor.

Re: Trivia for today
I do know that in the 90's Ford came out with two different convetible packages. I was wondering how many of each one was made. I also was told that in California the cars were painted a dfferent color but i have never seen one or can find any info on it.

Re: Trivia for today
You're probably refering to the 'Feature Car' packages. The red cars with the white wheels, then there was triple white cars, and I seem to recall yellow cars with chrome wheels. There was also the 7-Up cars that were green with white interior. Is that the ones you're talking about?
For today...Who is the person given credit for designing the tri-bar pony logo?

Re: Trivia for today
A fellow by the name of Phil Clark designed the tri-bar pony logo.
The 7UP Car is the 1990 Limited Edition Convertible. The red one came out in 92 I believe and the chrome yellow and triple white cars were 93s.

Re: Trivia for today
Phils daughter, Holly, will be glad you know his name. (He passed away in 1968 from kidney disease) I've been in contact with her and she has an amazing amount of her fathers original artwork. She's thinking about haveing it reproduced to make prints available as well as doing a book. He was also one of the designers of the Mustang I prototype.

Re: Trivia for today
In 1992 there were 2196 Vibrant Red Feature Cars made.
For 1993, there were 1419 Yellow LX 5.0 Feature cars built. (There were also 25 4 cyl. convertibles built, all went to Hertz. None have been accounted for as of yet) There were 1460 White Feature Cars made. I can find no reference to orange feature cars of any sort. There may have been a regional promotion, but if that is the case it has not surfaced on any of my information sources.
