Re: Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet 2009

Called the hotel today and they are setting up the group rate. We used 26 rooms last year and still had a couple people in other hotels, so I set it up for 30 this year. They are processing the paperwork, and I'll let y'all know when it's ready. Rate will probably be about $149/night for a 2 room suite.

I did ask about any "weekend getaway packages" because last year a couple of members got a lower rate by using that, but they don't have any listed for that weekend this time.

For those that haven't been there before, we stay at the Homewood Suites in Mechanicsburg PA. Very nice place to stay and they take care of us nicely!

Re: Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet 2009

WOW!!! That looks like a REALLY nice place to stay. I was going to ask how is the parking for are Mach's but I am guessing there would be no chance of any problems.

When does everyone usually get together and how long do they stay till?? Thurs till Sunday??

One of the reasons we chose it is for vehicle safety. So far it's been a great place. Far enough away from Carlisle that we're safe, but not too far. We get a nice cruise into Carlisle each morning.

Many of us show up Thursday and leave Sunday. The hotel surrounds an open center area that has a nice pool and a bbq area that we monopolize . The Galaxy club (read "old geezer club"...j/k) also stays there.

Re: Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet 2009

BTW, this year they have a new twist to registering. Once all the documentation is signed, we will have our own weblink to register on-line. Once everything is approved, I'll post up the link and it will be open season for registration!!

Does everyone usually bring their families or is this known as "get away from the family" type of weekend

It's definitely a bring the wife\girl friend\family type thing. They even have a ladies oasis and things for the kids to do at the Carlisle show. Now this is not to say the single guys don't stay out a little longer and visit some bars and other establishments in the area after the "grownups" have had enough fun for the night. There's something for everybody and fun in general.

Yeah, but the "grownups" retire to the pool deck and continue to enjoy adult beverages of their choice.

BTW, my wife and daughter are with me every year. Definitely family friendly.

I don't know Mike ..... 5000 beer cans?

There's usually about 50 of us so that's 100 beers each. We could probably do it if we had a week or so but during a 3-day show maybe we should do a Focus instead?

Can't we just borrow Curt's son's Focus and say we used beer cans to buy it.
