Yes, indianpete. The 6 cyl. four speed transmission was built in Dagenham, England. This was the subject of a much earlier trivia question and you can ignnore any other answer...they are wrong.

It was actually listed as only being marketed to the southern California Ford Dealers. Likewise, the High Country Special was marketed only by the Colorado Ford Dealers, but only carry a Denver (51) DSO. Both cars were only available as coupes, although you often see convertible replicas out there for sale.

For today; how many times does the word 'Mustang' appear on the exterior of the standard V-6 or GT 2005 Mustang?

Scary, ain't it? I thought long and hard about whether there were any Mustangs in the past that didn't say Mustang anywhere on the exterior and couldn't some up with any. Anyone else?

Re: Trivia for today

There has always been some confusion about Mach 1's and Magnum wheels, for today here's a multi part question that should help clear up some of these myths and legends.

What year was the Magnum first available on a Mach 1 as a factory option?
On what Mustang (non-Shelby)had the first Magnum become an option on?
On what Shelby did the first Magnum become available on?
Bonus; what year did the Magnum stop becoming an option on a Mach 1?

Have fun and happy new year!

YES! There was a period of Fox body cars that had just the blue oval. This was called the "corporate period." This bit of trivia is in the 40th anniv book, but I can't remember off-hand what the actual years were. But it started in 1979 just after the close of the Stang II reign. It has the pony, but did not say "Mustang" on the car at all.

Re: Trivia for today

Actually the Fox cars did have 'MUSTANG' on the deck lid. On the opposite side it said 'FORD'. the were adhesive mounted emblems and mine were off the car before the sun set the first day I had my '82 GT 5.0.

1.) 1971
2.) 1969 Boss 429
3.) Hmmmm...1966, as in GT-350H?
4.) '72 or '73, I remember the 73's more with the slotted mags but don't recall seeing the Magnum's on them when they were new.

I guess I could have researched this on-line but this is all from memory from back then. It's funny back then that the Magnum 500 wheels were not that popular and many were replaced shortly after they were bought new.

Trivia for today: 1982 Mustang GT

What did the model "badge" on the early 1982 Mustang GT actually say?
This was only on the very early production models. I worked at a Ford dealer and we only got 2 with this "badge".
Here's a hint. It did NOT say "GT".
Anyone?

Re: Trivia for today

For '82, the GT was originally going to be called the 'SS' (the Capri was the RS), but a last minute change got the name changed before the cast badges could be made so some GT's actually came with 'GT' stickers on the deck lid as well as the dash (the only two places the car actually said GT on them) instead of the emblems. Some were actually delivered with a combination of sticker and emblem. Also, the early GT's could be had with any production Mustang engine, the 2.3 4 cyl., the 200cid inline 6 cyl., and the automatic only 255 V-8. It was not until later in production that the 5.0 V-8 (manual only) became a standard part of the GT package.

For today; the '94 Cobra looked very similar to the '95 and later Cobras with the exception of one item that stood unique to that car from any other Mustang or Cobra. What was it?
