The first 16 points races will be broadcast by Fox. 9 races, including the Daytona 500, will be broadcast on Fox with 7 races on Fox Sports 1. The final 20 points races, including the Chase for the Sprint Cup, will be broadcast by NBC. 7 races will air on NBC and 13 will air on NBCSN. As part of the deal, Chase races airing on NBC will be lead-ins to NBC Sunday Night Football. The Sprint Unlimited will alternate between FOX (2015-2016) and Fox Sports 1 (2014, 2017-2024). The Budweiser Duel races (now in primetime) and NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will air on Fox Sports 1. Practice & qualifying rights will belong to the network group broadcasting the race. Big Ron |

Re: NASCAR thread
Are you saying that next week DW will still be in the booth? The only thing that can get any worse than that is put Mikey in there with him. There are many races where I mute the TV and turn on the radio or just in car driver communication on the iPad. Those two are irritating and clearly play favorites during the broadcast.
If they like the driver and he makes a mistake it is 'that's racing', if they do not like the driver or it is not a popular driver it is 'blame, blame, pay attention, to aggressive, etc... ' Sorry, I really think Nascar would do so much better with out those two, clearly I am not the only one, look at how the ratings drop every week while they are broadcasters. Numbers do not lie. ok, off my box now..

Re: NASCAR thread
^^^AHEM!!^^Those 2 clearly are in bed with Hendrix and Chevy as a whole, guess Roush doesn't give them perks, they are so Pro-Chevy it is obvious to the point of nauseating, I am with you Darrell, I mute as well, and unmute once 48, 88, etc other Chevy drivers are out, then they get quiet and have nothing to say..ESPECIALLY if a Ford is up front

Now, listening to the in-car of the 88 is very entertaining and informative. I even had in-car video and watched him pour orange energy drink all over his driving suite to hide and wash away the fact he had to relieve himself during the race. This happened during a rain delay. For entertainment, I switch between these drivers: 88, 4, 14, 42, 18, 41, 10(daughter likes to hear) , also switch over drivers involved in a wreck, there is a 30-40 second delay so I have time to switch and get the good stuff. You can also watch lap times on the iPad, hear car changes and literally be a better commentator than those on TV. I text back and forth with my brother during a race and he gets more info from me than TV. Fun stuff. Without the iPad application, I don't think I could watch many races where the Waltrips are on.

Re: NASCAR thread
I'd rather DW be in the booth than two losers (Kyle Petty/Dallenbach) who average 30th Place finishes in their career. I can't stand Michael Waltrip, though. He's the biggest suck-up I've ever seen. If it wasn't for both Earnhardt's blocking for him, or rain, he would have never won a Cup race. I believe you always need a champion in the booth commentating, no matter what sport it is. Otherwise, the others just speculate on what the experience must be like.

Re: NASCAR thread
Benny Parsons was a good commentator. Jarrett is good. Rust Wallace is a good one. You could even include say Mark Martin, or someone of that caliber who was good, and a class act, just never won a title.

Re: NASCAR thread
I prefer Andy Petree, Dale Jarrett and Larry Mac. They could do all the races and I'd be happy.

Re: NASCAR thread
I really want one of those apps but my data usage would probably peg out in one race and then at&t would be throttling my speed for the remainder of the month.

Re: NASCAR thread
So what's the deal with Stewart? He's been out for 3 races now. Is he just lying low till the heat is off?

Re: NASCAR thread
Yea seems like it. Freakin Johnson has had TWO speeding penalties and running 4th , the #43 Ford got a s**tty deal..not the usual Bristol, kinda boring but it seems NASCAR itself is boring nowadays!!

Re: NASCAR thread
Last night I was getting sick and tired of the commentators so I just turned off the volume. For once I would like to watch a race without listening to the commentators sounding like a bunch of old hags in their red hats sitting around telling all their gossip stories.
If those guys know all there is to know about winning races, why are they not paid by a team to help win races?

Wow. The hate is thick in here. Maybe stop watching if it doesn't bring you pleasure? Just an idea....

Re: NASCAR thread
Since when don't the commentators of any sport blather on constantly? That's what they get paid to do. Maybe they should do what the NFL did back in 1983. They telecast one game with absolutely no commentators. The tv was silent except for hearing the refs whistles, crowds roars, and players grunting. It flopped. People wanted the commentators back.
I'll watch the Atlanta race next week, and then it's nothing but NFL football from then on.

Re: NASCAR thread
I happen to appreciate the commentary. As much as I know about current-day stock car racing (which I'd guess is as much if not more than anyone else here), I still learn from the commentary at every race. Kyle petty and wally dallenbach can be annoying when they try to talk over one another, but besides that I enjoy the commentators. Even the waltrips.

Re: NASCAR thread
I may have eye issues, but I am not completely blind and as such I do not need someone telling a blow by blow of what captain obvious can see is happening on tv. If a car is fast, he is fast, if he has a flat, I see a flat. If one runs out of gas, I can see that as well. I am not learning crap from these guys and intact I think they spew more wrong information (watch them next race and see how many times they are wrong about calling something) then they are about bringing something useful to the screen.
BTW I enjoy all forms of motors sports so turning off the tv is not an option, but I can watch with the volume turned off.

Re: NASCAR thread
One of the things I hate is when the commentators start talking about a fuel mileage race and if the cars can go 40 laps or more (depending on the tack) in the last part of the race without a caution. You already know their's a 99.9% chance that isn't gonna happen, so why even say it.

Agreed, he was only mad because others are starting to race him the way he races them... it was only a matter of time before the other drivers repaid #2. Funny how he saw nothing wrong with what he did to Kennseth but mad as heck with the 11 but the roles were just reversed. I was
Loved how Tony instantly repaid him by destroying the 2's front end.
