Re: College Football back in full swing!
At least USC will drop, I was tired of hearing the media proclaim them as the best team they have seen in a long time.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
USC has dropped to 9th in both polls. Not surprisingly, OU has risen to #1 in both polls. LSU is #2 in the USA poll, and #3 in the AP poll. Bama is #4USA/#2AP. Missouri fills in the top 4 in both with Texas as #5 in both. Florida went to 13USA/#12AP.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
Bunch of sport writers talking about USC this morning on espn. Said that nfl scouts have said that there are potentially 40 legit nfl prospects on usc right now. NCAA would never call Pete Carroll or his program out but something fishy is going on to get that many 5 star prospects in your program. I guess they dont call them the "dirty condoms" for nothing. Anyways, with all that talent, no way they should loose to Oregon state

Re: College Football back in full swing!
I caught the Iowa-Penn State game exactly as the Iowa guy intercepted that pass in the 4th quarter. Instead of being the usual Chokeyes, they actually won it.

Satan still sucks. We beat ourselves, then handed 'bama the win. Y'all weren't as good as people might think. Lucking into the SEC Champ. game in Atlanta is only going to show how good Florida really is. Tech should probably end up 1st this week, but that's doubtful.

[QUOTE=falcongtho3;1070028]If luck makes you 10-0 then who needs talent. I agree both teams played pretty sloppy, and LSUs QB was horrible. I did like how many LSU defenders it took to tackle Julio Jones.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
I saw it in the club I was at Saturday night for a birthday party (no way I was going to pay for a viewing of what should have been a rout), and watched the first three quarters in horror as Troy hammered the Tigers, and then stood there in dismay as LSU scored over 30 unanswered points in the 4th quarter. Never seen anything like it!

Re: College Football back in full swing!
Being a VT fan, have not had much to talk about this year but atleast we are headed back to the ACC championship game against BC. I will be shocked if the Gators do not win it all this year. They are playing on another level right now. Too many weapons on offense. Hopefully Percy Harvin will be healthy against Bama. Would have been awesome if VT could have landed the VA native, but who can blame him (Percy) for wanting to play in Myers' offensive scheme, instead of our joke of an offense.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
If he were at VT, he could be the Heisman winner this year. Can you imagine the yardage he would be gaining in that conference?

Re: College Football back in full swing!
On a more serious note, if Florida does not play better than they did against FSU, they will struggle with 'Bama. Florida had the opportunity to score at least 60 and shot themselves in the foot repeatedly in the second half.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
If you would look at the playing conditions in that craphole of a stadium it might make more sense why we only scored 45. Its hard to run and cut in 2"-3" of standing water. Frikkin BOBBY BOWDEN @ DORK CAMBELL ftl.. But hey, 45 points is still 45 points.
And yes, I was saying the same thing about the unaggressive playcalling. I really think once Meyer had the game under control and started putting 2nd stringers in (again after halftime) they were just burning the clock. No points were scored by either team in the last 13 minutes.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
Worse than unagressive, the play calling was unimaginative at times. They got stopped on too many short yardage downs when they should have gotten first downs easily. I know the conditions were bad but the o line didn't block as well as I have been used to seeing. Maybe in the dome next week everything is different. I sure hope so.
And why on the world doesn't Meyer use Moody from the beginning of the game? That kid looks like a MONSTER running back who could take over a game. I bet he is a little sorry he transferred from USC to Florida.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
Once Florida beats down Satan, it'll be an interesting championship game as they'll probably take on Texas. Should be a really good game.
We fell apart the last half of the season. LSU was a team without a QB, although that may have changed with Jefferson at the helm. Now all we need is a defensive co-ordinator.

Re: College Football back in full swing!
I bet with Percy out we will be seeing a LOT of Moooooooooody. Until now, he was our "run the clock" running back. His only problem earlier in the season was fumbles. I think he has had to earn his spot back, but with Harvin, Demps and Rainey that hasnt been easy.

New BCS standings are out. OU is going to the Big12 Conference Championship leaving Texas out in the cold....
