I came back to work from lunch break today and found this sitting in the parking lot. The guy said it was the first Laguna Seca in Indiana, though I don't know how true that is. Could be, I suppose. It was nice and sounded good.

Here's a blast form the past especially for those who have a Boss on order, or those who are not early original orderers. Remember this thread took place 3 or so months from when most of us ordered and a good two months before cars began arriving.

yes,this waiting game sucks,my wait may be longer than what i thought,the first boss will be on the lot next week,a co with stripe delete.i was thinking of trading buddy my LS to come later for the co,but no i will wait but it would be better on wallet

I did, however, miss the one I did have on order. The person who got it picked it up on Friday. I did ask to find out what sequential number it was and to pass my contact information on the buyer.

Local dealership down the road has a 2012 Boss 302 base, Kona Blue w/White stripes, and the Recaro/Helical diff option. Car is absolutely gorgeous, and sounds bad nasty too!

Well my Buddy's new 2012 Boss 302 finally came in. We went to the dealership Saturday and waited around four hours for the car as it was susposed to be in by car carrier at 0900. It didn't make it Saturday but it came in at noon today. It's Boss 302 number 29. For now the Track Key (red key) is included but without the "Tune". It's susposed to be available later in the summer from Ford for $302. The Recaro seats are very nice and comfy.

Very nice, be interested to hear your thoughts on how it compares with your Shelby and the good old 03/04 Machs. Tell your mate you need to drive it for research purposes.

Glad his ordeal ended. The white looks great, and that's a pretty low number! Had I bought the Boss I had on order, I would have had no. 62. I am in contact with the new owner so I hope to get to see it soon.

The White is a good choice, really brings out the graphics. Tell him we are all a little envious and happy for him too!

The Recaros are available on the 2012 GT500s as well. You should get one!

I had a set in a 1995 Mark VIII LSC prior to my '03 Mach 1. I bought them in 1998 and it cost $1500 back then for a full leather set. They were very comfortable and I drove to Carlisle three times in that car and the 10-hour drive was nothing. The seats in the Mach 1 and now my '11 Shelby GT-500 are very comfortable also for longer trips. My 1970 Mach and the older Fox-bodied Mustangs I had were only about good for 3 hours before I needed to take a "back" break. The Recaros have a little more side booster padding and you feel like you're sitting in a styrofoam cutout made for you (LOL).

That was one cool and underrated car. The motor was very similar to the Mach's so when the '03 Mach's came out, I knew I had to have one.

Looks like all of the major magazines are covering the Boss this month. You just have to pick through bad info, like R&T stating that the standard Boss is regular production car and will not be built in limited numbers!?!
Performance times seem to vary quite a bit, with R&T getting a mid-12 second 1/4 mile with an LS.

I e-mailed him last night asking for a report and here's what he sent me back:

"Well, I haven't been in the Boss at all since Monday night due to working 14 hour days. I will say that you have to experience that thing above 4000 rpm to believe it, and it revs to 7500 with no problem at all. Handling is easily better than my race prepped Cobra R. In short, its fast as hell. I mean it really moves. Can't wait for this weekend!"

This is coming from a guy that also has a 2010 Shelby GT-500 cranking out about 640 hp sitting in his garage and sold his '95 Cobra R to get the Boss.
