Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
Just had my 04 5 speed dyno tested at Murillo's yesterday at a club Dyno day. I have 38k on it, a K&N drop in, and magnaflow mufflers only. 304 HP, 319 Tq. Weather was great, 65 and dry. Mike has a Mustang Dyno.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I've been researching the hell out of this site and see a lot of different things people have done to their beasts...
Based on what I've got ordered (see sig), the oh so glorious I'm pretty much sticking with bolt-ons for now. MAYBE down the road I'll give it a power-adder, but in reality I don't forsee a real reason for me to do so. It saddens me to even consider doing anything that would render the shaker useless. But I'd like to avoid things such as changing out pulleys based on the negative things I've read about.

Headers (Longtubes) Midpipe Catback Good Tune Spacer and throttlebody won't necessarily give you more HP but will improve TQ and throttle response |

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
300 hp at the wheels is very easy to get with bolt ons. I would do a catback and catted X pipe or H with a hand held tuner and do the C&L cold air to many issues with KN's cold air kits. Also add the mezrie electric water pump will free up some hp too.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I had a thread asking for dyno sheets from anyone owning them proving the gains before and after with no changes other than adding the spacer, and no one could deliver.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
Are you guys judging 300whp on a dyno-jet or mustang dyno? I'd rather go by mustang dyno.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
Well...... this is going to get alot of peeps panties in a bunch. I will list what little mods I have first.
K&N drop in BBK H-pipe/ No Cats Flowmasters Pro 5.0 shifter Dynojet #'s are...........Drum roll please 322 rwhp and 351 rwtq. You can feel every bit of it in the seat to. And to boot my dyno guy said my car was running bad rich. I have added underdrive pullys a few weeks back and feel I have lost some power. So they are about too go + I don't like what I read about the pullys and the oil pump gear. I'm soooooo glad I have a factory freak!!!!! |

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
322.... more than likely your tuner is feeding you a load of crap. You should be at about 290ish- I don't buy a factory freak giving you 30+HP. Read the posts above about dynojet and operators abilities to make the numbers say what they want them to say.
I bet you're happy and going to keep going back to that tuner. Sorry for the wake up call. |
