Bolt
I was cleaning my wheels today and noticed a bolt sticking out of front caliper from top of caliper but on the bottom side of caliper. I was able to pull it out it has no threads but looks like it should be held in with a fodder pun. I can only
Push it in so great sticks out about half an inch won’t go in any further. What is this bolt for? It’s about 3 in long. |

Re: Bolt
That's normal, one end should be tapered with a groove, other end rounded...part of holding pad to caliper, that's normal, can move mine with play in and out.

Re: Bolt
I don’t think it’s normal other side in good the passenger side I can easily pull it all the way out the drivers side is flush passenger side won’t go in all the way. Maybe it is normal I never noticed it before want to make sure and won’t drive car until I am don’t want to have any brake issues while driving.

Re: Bolt
A photo would really help to identify what your talking about. Good idea not to drive it until you know everything is OK. Almost sounds like the bolt that holds the caliper onto the wheel assembly is possibly backing out. They do move in and out some as the caliper compresses the pads and relaxes between each press of the brake pedal.
