Brand Loyalty People
Hello, Been over at a Mopar forum lately because of a new purchase but still have a Mach. It always irks me when people sh*t on Mustangs or Mustang drivers. As I get older, I get annoyed with the whole brand loyalty thing. Some guys get really nasty about it too. I always think that the company that they're so loyal to could really care less about them too, they just want their money. I can appreciate any nice car no matter what the make although I always buy American, I can appreciate any performance import too. The Chevy guys seem the worse but I think your really missing out on some cool cars if you just buy, work on, and think one brand. Plus it's a kick in the n*ts to somebody when you look down on whatever they own just because you think your brand is the best. I have noticed the Ford guys are a little more open to other brands. Sorry for the rant, Jim

Re: Brand Loyalty People
When I see another nice sports car drive by I give them the thumbs up. Usually they don't have time to give it back but they may think next time they see a different brand. Or they may just say "Fukn Mustangs" they always win.

Re: Brand Loyalty People
I'm a fan of American muscle cars of all types, but with all honesty have to say that my very favorites have mostly been Chevrolets. I do have to disagree with the statement that Ford guys are more tolerant. I have experienced the exact opposite, with Mustang guys in particular vehemently bagging on anything Chevy and Camaros in particular.

I was like that when I was younger and never liked Fords. Back around 2000 I wanted a newer car and wanted it to be American, V8, stick and rwd, that kind of narrowed my search. Ended up taking a white 5 speed Mustang GT for a spin and loved it. The F bodies of that Era had nice motors but that was it in my opinion. Well I guess everybody else's too because they stopped making them for a while. I still like Chevy too but would take a Mustang over a Camaro mainly due to styling but that's just taste. I don't know, I guess it just really bothers me when somebody cr*ps on something you like and they don't even have a clue about it? Jim |

Re: Brand Loyalty People
I have been buying and driving Ford's for over 40 years, deviated from Ford on a couple of occasions and was sorry I did. I am just a Ford guy, but love all kinds of cars. My wife after all these years got rid of her Mustang for a new Fiat 500... loves it. It is your money, it is your choice. I don't get into what brand is better, if you don't like what I drive, buy me a car you want me to.

Every brand has the idiots and the cool people. While I'm a fan of Mustangs I've been around other makes all my life. One of my good friends drives a Mopar and the joke is I'm an honorary member of the local Mopar club.

Re: Brand Loyalty People
When it all come does to it Im a CAR guy! ...While I do bleed FORD blue and playfully hate on the Bowtie guys I respect any nice and powerful cars. Im more of a fan American Muscle but after after getting my doors blown off by SRT4s and other turbo civic hatches they have earn my respect. I went to hot import night once and man that 76 civic was running 7's it was a beast! I just cant stand the people that crazy accessories on a car that are pointless ugly and serve no purpose.

I've seen some really fast home built imports at my track too. A lot of them sound horrible and some break and puke all over the track but I guess that's drag racing. I'm with you on respecting anything that's fast or built tastefully even if it ain't my particular flavor. Jim |

Any car can be piloted by a jackass. Any car can be made fast/beautiful/sound like a concert-class stereo. It is up to the owner to bolt a body kit on it that looks like melted plastic, wire up subwoofers that over power the rest of the stereo and JB Weld on a $25 Pep Boys muffler.
