Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
Ok, I just went through the headache of trying to make my 62mm BBK throttle body work on my mach. After fiddling around with emery cloth on the throttle blade edges, and centering the blades and drilling an air bleed hole in the throttle body I could not get rid of the binding in the pedal. Its interesting when there's no vacuum in the manifold with the engine of the throttle is fine, start the motor up and its like it sucks the throttle blades shut. This absolutely ticked me off!!!! It was so bad that I couldnt even drive the car with it on. So for now the stock t-body is back on and now im in the market for a replacement. I was thinking about an AccuFab unit, after this fiasco with the bbk, the extra money for the AccuFab looks like its worth it. Feel free to make recommendations as I need feedback to make a better decision. Please only recommend a t-body if YOU OWN AND USE IT!!!! I want real world info please! Thanks

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
I agree with Jarome.
I have an Accufab and its coming off. I've done everything to fix the idle issue and it still remains. Besides there are no gains other that a stiffer pedal feel. That's about the only thing I will miss.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
yup i had problems with my accufab too. tried everything from having my tuner play with a few things iirc dashpot decay rate or something like that and i even tried about 20 different iac restricters with as many different hole sizes and combinations as i could come up with. tried playing with the tps sensor and still nothin. ended up selling it at a lose.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
ive got an accufab that came on the car when i bought it, but its great no issues. OCCASIONALY the throttle will stay around 1100 or so but i just tap the gas a little and its back to normal. Really has depended on the weather.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
Let's put quality asside. Why spend $350 on something that offers a more desirable pedal feel but no hp/tq gains?

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
Actually the accufabs run about $450 dollars. You are better off sticking with the stock throttle body. If you decide to go FI later then at that point you will want a single blade throttle body anyway. Only then will you see gains over the stock TB.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
I bought mine for $230.00 from a local Reg member. Installed it and noticed a improved throttle response with no idle issues.
Which would you rather have?.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
I had a BBK on a T-Bird SC a few years ago that did the same binding. It turns out there is a screw on the TB that prevents that then the IAC compensates to put the idle where it belongs.Sure was an easy fix and I felt more stupid than usual.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
Stock. $300-$400 for a mod that provides no hp gain is a waste IMHO.

when i had mine in for all of like 3 days i loved the throttle response but other than that it really wasnt worth the headaches it brought with it.

Re: Need help choosing a t-body!!!!!
especially since you can order a intake spacer from roy for around 130 (that's what i spent on min) and gain torque and horsepower.
