Which fluid to use in TR-3650?
I purchased a new 3650 for my Mach. The manufacturer and Ford say to use ATF. The tranmission shop that sold this transmission to me says to use 10-30 motor oil. I have never heard of using motor oil in a manual transmission. He says ATF is called ATF for a reason.
So, what fluid should I use? Thanks, Jerome

Re: Which fluid to use in TR-3650?
I used Mobil1 Synthetic ATF and Lucas trans additive. Search for the mixture, it is in the forum, that is where I got it. BTW, the Synthetic ATF smells really bad. haha

I don't see why you need any additive... Just use Mobil 1 ATF to the new 3.2 qts amount.

Re: Which fluid to use in TR-3650?
I just pick up Mobil1 ATF and Lucas for my Mach 1. I just bought the car a week ago and have had some of shifting problems. Today I am getting an oil change, transmission fluid change, and fuel filter change. I am hope it helps with the shifting. I will know tonight. I also have a MGW shifter on order.

Re: Which fluid to use in TR-3650?
The "secret sauce" for 3650's
1qt. Lucas trans fix & top off with a quality synthetic ATF This tranny has a few "quirks" that the Lucas smooths out.
