Driveshaft Groove
I'm working on my black '03 and I noticed that the driveshaft has a "groove" formed into it. I am pretty sure it was made this way but I want to verify that. It's about 1/4" wide and 1/8" deep. It's probably about 1/3 of the way back from the front u-joint. Almost like a dent that goes all the way around. As mentioned, it seems very uniform and the area is slightly rusty like the rest of the driveshaft so it does seem like it was made that way. This is an automatic car so having damper ring was not a surprise. Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Driveshaft Groove
Is the car lowered? Sounds like the e brake cable equalizer rubbing.

Re: Driveshaft Groove
My old hci '94 had that happen to its aluminum ds. Funny this comes up now, as last night I helped a buddy put an aluminum ds in his car and I mentioned that old story to him.
