Cobra Bumper...To do or not to do??
I'm sure this will get a stir out of everyone, BUT...as luck would have it on the way to the show in NC my bumper got smacked by a piece of debris on I-40. It spiderwebbed the paint VERY bad, bent/stretched the bumper cover on the bottom center, broke a foglight, and hurt the chin spoiler.
Since all this would have to be replaced anyway I was considering a Cobra swap. I'd like to have a 99/01 bumper but GEEZ they are expensive (if you can find them). I should be able to get out at less than $500 with a '03-'04 swap. The only issue I know of is that I will need to drill a couple new holes for the top bumper mount (as I found out with my old Bullitt). For any of those who have done this swap, does the Mach hood fit okay with the bumper, or is it a PITA to deal with? My Bullitt never was quite right, but I also put a cowl hood on it instead of the stock one. Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Cobra Bumper...To do or not to do??
I think the cobra bumper only looks good on the cobra. On a mach it
just doesn't flow together. Just my opinion but I like the stock bumper over both cobra bumpers. Get cobra or bullitt side skirts that's the best exterior mod |

Re: Cobra Bumper...To do or not to do??
I'm torn. If I did swap out it would probably be a 99-01, but I don't wanna spend the $$ I'll probably go back with a stocker

828 I think it looks nice, I just wish they would have tucked it just a LITTLE closer in, seems to jut out some, may just be the pic. Did you paint your car??, I thought you had the DSG in racing pics??

Re: Cobra Bumper...To do or not to do??
I guess to each their own. I think it flows very well and this is what it shoulda looked like from the get go with the spoiler too. I only got the folding mirrors on mine for now.

Re: Cobra Bumper...To do or not to do??
I really like the 03/04 bumper on our cars. With the bigger beefier hood the bigger beefier bumper just makes it look all the better. I plan to do this when I get the money or have a reason to change the bumpers.

Wasn't there a thread on here where a company said they can do it, with pre orders for the 99/01 bumper.

Re: Cobra Bumper...To do or not to do??
I like them both on the Mach 1's. If you plan on going with a supercharger I would opt for the 03/04. The hood will fit fine just you may need to tuck in the "up rights" near the head light a bit on the 03/04 Cobra. The 03/04 Cobra hood I believe is a bit longer. I know this had to be done for the New Edge GT's, just don't know how close the GT hood is to the Mach 1 hood is in length.
