Mach 460 System Replacement
Hey guys, I finally pulled the trigger on the following items to replace my tired Mach 460 items. The guys at Crutchfield were very happy to help.
120725512 Metra 72-5512 Speaker Harness 2 109STAGE8 JBL Stage 8602 2 613X8015 Kenwood X801-5 (Refurbished) 1 158XAV651B Sony XAV-W651BT 1 120AFDI5V Metra AFDI-5V 12V-5V Converter 1 120955026 Ford Kit 1 120705701 Metra 70-5701 Wire Harness 1 007CPER417 Crutchfield 4 Channel 17 ft 1 007CK4 Crutchfield Amp Wiring Kit 1 0000190009 Crutchfield MasterSheet™ - FORD MUSTANG Got all of it for 550 bucks after some discounts. I was wondering if anyone else has used the factory wiring to operate aftermarket components? I plan on removing the factory amps and mounting the Kenwood unit in place while retaining the factory wiring. |

I had an amp for the sub. It sounded pretty good, but, later I added a 4 channel amp for the door and rear tray speakers and ran new speaker wire.

Re: Mach 460 System Replacement
I see what you are doing now; RCAs to the 5 channel amp, then use the factory wiring for the 5x7s, however I am not sure how well that will work with the odd wiring of the mustang's 5x7 speakers.
I do not see in your list a converter plug for the output of the factory amps to the speakers, that would utilize your factory wiring. Personally, it really is not hard to run new speaker wires. Also, if you are swapping out the head unit and the amps, why do you need the 12v to 5v converter?
