Just another Eaton swap thread...
Since I am getting pretty close to having all the parts to start my swap, I'll go ahead and start my swap thread. I already have an extensive Excel spreadsheet showing what parts are needed with part numbers. Lemme just say it's a lot more than 48 parts. Also, a lot of the part numbers are incorrect on the "list" that is floating around.
Resources I have found helpful so far: This pic shows a complete exploded view of the Terminator motor with partial part numbers EDIT: I have all the parts for the swap. I am going to finish up the part number spreadsheet this weekend (1-27-06) and get it hosted somewhere. This will include prices paid for everything. I don't have the exact total in front of me but it's around $2000. This includes rebuilding the snout of my Eaton and porting it ($450), a complete 03-04 Cobra fuel tank/pumps setup($250), and an aftermarket heat exchanger($215). Not too shabby if you ask me. Re: Just another Eaton swap thread...
Alot of times people sell things as a group so to get the one part you need you might have to buy two parts you don't. Other times while in the search you come across a part that though you have it it is too good of a deal to pass up.
There is also the "if something dosen't work" part of it. If one piece is broken lets say you have a back up right there rather than let the car sit 1/2 taken apart for a month while you track that part down. |

Re: Just another Eaton swap thread...
Well if you take pics of the entire swap process, list all parts collected, and give a total cost for the parts you collected, you are going to have to change the name of this thread... From: "just another Eaton swap thread..." to: The best **** Eaton swap thread ever!" keep up the good work we're all "root"ing for you!

Re: Just another Eaton swap thread...
You're a hell of a negotiator to get all those parts for $890. Much better than I did. Good luck with the swap. You'll like the results.
PS - mine is a 99 cobra not a mach. |

I have since sold off the lower/intercooler/intercooler adapter for $400 and the throttle body for $80. That helped offset the cost slightly |

Re: Just another Eaton swap thread...
Update time! It took me a while to find a timing cover but I finally got one. I also found a screaming deal on a T-56 so I wanted to get that swapped and functioning before starting the supercharger swap.
Here is a pic of the lower and supercharger mocked up. As you can see in the photo, the lower intake is sitting off the heads by a tiny bit. A little grinding on the knock sensor bosses should get that taken care of. Since this photo, I've got the valve covers loose, all the accessories off the timing cover and the balancer off. All that's left is to pull the timing cover and EGR tube off and I'll be ready for reassembly. If the weather stays nice this weekend, I should have the majority of it done. More photos to come |

Re: Just another Eaton swap thread...
Quick question for you ! But please be patient ! LOL
Can you compare the mach 1 and cobra harmonic balancer ? I plan on using the metco lower pulley kit and it bolts to the balancer with three bolts. Are the bolt holes on the cobra pulley the same as the mach pulley ? If so I could scratch one more part of my list and just reuse the mach balancer. Thanx ! |

Alright, couldn't find any batteries for the cam but I did take some measurements. The Mach 1 and Cobra balancers are identical besides the fact that the Cobra balancer has the threaded collar on it for the factory lower pulley. I see no reason why an aftermarket lower pulley won't bolt to the Mach 1 balancer. |

Re: Just another Eaton swap thread...
So approximately how much will all this cost? I saw in another thread back in 06 that it pretty expensive and may end up being 8000+.
I saw Machgsxer's thread about him putting a whole kit together for around 3000. Would you say around 4-5k for the entire swap including labor if i find a shop to do it? How do you think the 3650 will hold up with an eaton?

One guy paid 800 for a shop to install it. I don't know if they tuned it as well though.
