i think its iac??? - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

so i idle at 1100 rpms??? wth and i used to at 500. i unplugged the iac and then started car without it pluged in and it still stayed the same does that mean its not my iac? i checked for vacuum leaks i really couldn't find any i got the code for (idle overspeed p0507) and after sitting for bout 5 minuets it jumps way up to 2000 rpms out of n where any input would be nice ideas?:HOPPY:

i just adjusted it and it is idleing at 1000 still.

could it be spark plug? would that cuase high idle? its a little rough too

Sounds like the IAC is bad. It is easy to change and if it is the original then it is probably bad. New one from Ford is only about $80. Worth every penny.
only takes about 5 min to change.

do you have a pic of what it looks like inside is it supposed to have a spring in there?

Bad IAC or sticking TB blade needs cleaning.

you can't fix the IAC valve. Only thing you can do is replace it. If you are gonna clean the throttle blade only use the special cleaner as it has a coating and the wrong cleaner will remove the coating.

didnt know thought degrease would work luckly haven touched it. im just replaceing iac i suppose after i fix the stripped spark

ordered new one be here tomorrow heli coiled spark thread in head so hopefully ill be beating trans ams soon hahah

Clean your Mass air sensor and Throttle body. Get CRC for the Mass air its special and they also make a good Throttle body cleaner product. Then if it still idles high the IAC and the throttle posion sensor could be bad and both are easy to change. I would clean first though. I also bought the IAC plate and it really helped my idle.
