installing kenny brown brackets

well installing the kenny brown rear lower control arm relocation brackets and during dissasembly i found the lower control arm bushings are shot too hell so ordered a full set of poly bushings for the car.

also replaced the differential clutch pack with the extra clutch hopefully will help my one wheel peel coming out of the corners

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

Those stock control arm bushings are junk. I replaced my LCA's with Maximum motorsport arms and bushing's and it's solid. Just don't grease them once they are installed using the zirk, I blew a bushing out that way as well.

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

I wish KB would get a shop opened up again. His old one on Gasoline Alley was great.

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

ok so got the brackets on and did my own experiment to see how much it fixed the squat under hard acceleration

rolling at idle in 1st and just stomping the throttle

origionaly i had 3.5" of movement almost bottoming out the shock and alot of wheel spin

now only 1.5" and almost no wheel spin wish i could have tested it on a track and not on a street but its winter up north

sorry i couldnt think of a way to messure how much change in the rise of the rear end during braking

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

any way you could post up some pics of them installed? I'm re-building my rear suspension, and have considered this.

would like to go lower but how it works out the new bottom hole in the orgional bracket it right at the bottom of the factoy bracked and would need spacers to make it wider

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

How much did this change your pinion angle? I noticed on there web site it says you should run their rear control arms with these.

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

ok so i made it out to the track for a test and tune and got some numbers

i knocked .2-.3 off my 60ft times launching at 1000rpm less
previous best was 1.9 launching at 5500rpm
previous best with 4500 rpm launch was 2.0
now best is 1.76 launching at 4500rpm
(that is with the same tire pressures and same tires)

my control arm bushings are shot so it should get better ounce they come in off back order

they are actualy part of there drag racing pack with there control arms and there coil over rear shocks but i have not had a problem with them so far

and it changed the pinion angle changed by .1* but i am thinking it was more of a slight error since it was so close

Re: installing kenny brown brackets

I thought about getting those relocation brackets but after emailing MM I will wait until my car is lowered. Here is the response I received from Jack Hidley:

"The KB relocation brackets should work fine with the MM RLCAs. I would only use the KB brackets if the car is lowered more than 1" in back. If the car is higher than this, they will cause quite a bit of oversteer. "
