Great day in the morning.

This was E mailed to me from the folks that put on the Seattle Roadster Show. :HOPPY:
As I'm sure you're aware, our shows are primarily for pre-1972 vehicles, however we do accept a limited number of exceptional vehicles that fall outside that date. After looking at your photos, we feel your Mustang qualifies for the Seattle Roadster Show and we welcome you to come and show it off!

So I have a question. This is held at Quest Field Event Center in Seattle and is a three day show. Have any of you ever displayed your car in a show like this?
I'm praying for well wishers out there in Mach 1 land. There are so many of you dumping your Machs just when they are becoming really cool to own. http://www.hotrodshows.com/

Re: Great day in the morning.

Awesome news! (Your Mach is a Roadster?) That's a real feather in your cap, or at least the Mach cap. Let us know how it goes, should be quite an experience!

Re: Great day in the morning.

make up a 3 ring binder of info, specs, photos of your car and tell people about it!! Many may not even think it is a production car vs. a custom....these types of shows can be fun....we used to do a local indoor mall shows over a weekend....

I agree the more info you provide the less you will have to tell the same story over, over and over again.

Re: Great day in the morning.

I've done a few shows like this. Most of them want you to have a fire extinguisher. You'll likely have to disconnect your battery and you'll need less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Another thing I learned is to clean and dress the tires, wheels and other parts before taking the car to the show. Did you ever go to a show like this and see how dirty most of the tires looked, but the rest of the car looked perfect? Some places don't allow the use of any silicon/silicate based cleaners/dressings because they can make the floor slippery.

Because of the amount of work invivlved, I stopped doing the judged shows. But, if you are going to have the car judged, you'll need a judges book. They like to see what you have done to the car. You get points for how clean the car is, I've lost points for lint that was on the brake pedal. You get extra points if you index the wheels. They do a few more things differently than the judged show at Bellevue.

It's never a good morning when you have to start it at 12:15am to get ready for work.

Re: Great day in the morning.

Thanks much for the replys. The show is Feb 29-March 2nd. It is the largest in the state and they have never had a 03,04 Mach in the show. I've been going to this show as a spectator since I was 10 years old.[my older brother would take me. He was a car nut and that's how I was infected ] I will be getting help from Griot's www.griotsgarage.com and the dealership that I bought the car from.[Titus-Will Ford] The car has placed 1st place in over 30 car shows[including MCA] in the last three years. Did I tell you I was excited about this? To represent our Bean group I will have a can of refried beans sitting on the shaker.

Griotts is a good outfit. Maybe they can help you add some bling to the Rosarita can. :PIMP:

For the Show I'm taking off the "Discount Tire" decal on the windshield and having a "MACH 1 Registry" made up for me by the Decal guy http://www.decalguy.com/ in yellow.

The can of beans might come in very useful for bribing the judges

You all at least have cool oil cans or bean cans. The only thing I have ever found with my last name on it is this.

With my last name, I've found a soft drink company, but still not seeing any of the royalties! On my moms side of the family, there's a castle in Scotland...
