Intake spacer effect on shaker height
With an MMR 1/2" spacer does the hood seal get pretty tight? I used to run a 3/8" spacer on my other Mach and I slotted the rear shaker bracket holes to bring the shaker back close to the stock height. But with a 1/2" spacer I don't think there's enough room to fully compensate. I figure I'll bring it down as mush as possible and hopefully the seal doesn't have much stress on it after that.
Or space the k-member down, LOL. Kidding! Any thoughts or opinions?

Re: Intake spacer effect on shaker height
Just take the hood off and leave the shaker.

Re: Intake spacer effect on shaker height
Yup! Lol. My son is going to daily drive this thing so we need it stockish.
I just run without the seal on the other car, but it only comes out in nice weather. The shaker is on brackets on the Eaton but I am looking at a bracket that holds it to the hood,

Re: Intake spacer effect on shaker height
If I get caught in the rain, I'll see a bit of water on the cam covers. Mines stock height with new shaker isolators/grommets. It might be fine with a 1/2" spacer because it seems like there's some sag from father time as well as some give due to the flexible shaker seal.

Re: Intake spacer effect on shaker height
Good points! That reminds me that I have two seals available. It's possible the older one will work better with the spacer.
I'll try to remember to post the results once the motor is back in the car.
